D.B. Pas'cal Chimney & Roof

Needed some chimney work to prevent water intrusion into the fire box. Pascal replaced crown and one flu tile and did not install crown properly and neve bonded first flu tile up top to the exiting flu tiles. We were advised twice that the fireplace was safe to operate and further inspections revealed it was not safe to operate. Complained to BBB and Pascal will not reimburse me for additional work that must be done. I would never allow any work from this firm on my property. Pascal refused to pay. Will have to go to small clams. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DO NOT WORK WITH THIS FIRM. Unskilled workers and no supervision.

Nice folks, but will never do business with them again. It seemed as though they were behind schedule for the season and were cutting corners big time on my job. I had to tell them to redo several key aspects of the job over the time they were here. I have a list of issues with them regarding their work. If you use them, hold 25% of their payment until you are satisfied, I wish I had. So much for their unconditional guarantee.

On 10/11/2016 I paid DB Pascal a deposit of $7,392 to secure scheduling for new roofing on my house at ***. My adult dependent son lives in the family home at this address, but I live most of the year at ***., Colorado. I was there in Penn Yan to secure work on the roof. Due to weather constraints, the work was not able to be done at all and was put off until Spring 2017. The first of 2017 I both called and sent DB Pascal letters to inform them that I could no longer (due to financial problems) have the work done and cancelled the order for a new roof. I was informed that the money would not be returned as "they had bought supplies" for the job. I heard nothing from them after that and a letter asking for the return of the deposit both to the roofer and the chimney portion (hoping the older man might have some influence) were returned as "undeliverable", even though the addresses were from their letterheads. The year before I had the chimney replaced by them with no problems. Any supplies which were bought for the job have certainly been used on other jobs by now, but I cannot seem to contact them as the answering service boxes are full so messages cannot be left. I really do not see how they can legally keep that much money from being returned. I am an 87 year old widow with a dependent and that is a lot of money. Is small claims court the only solution available to me? Thank you for your consideration of my problem which has been stone walled by the Pascal company. my deposit of $7
