Their answer is almost entirely untrue, with the exception of fact that we had a conversation on 4/**/2014.  I asked at that time for an explanation of what these charges were for and that they remove the item from my credit.  They did explain the charges but never answered me about my credit question.
I asked that the documentation of these charges be sent to me immediately and it is now May * yet I have not received their material.
From their explanation above, I categorically dispute the validity of these charges and if they ever do send me the materials I will then discuss the matter with the underlying creditor and remit to them any portion of the debt that proves to be legitimate, not this agency which clearly has difficulty with the truth.
I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission under the fair debt collection practices act which exposes this company to a $1000.00 fine per infraction and if I do not hear from DBS within the next week, will file complaint with the NY State Attorney General while coterminously seek damages in State supreme Court for defamation of character.

We have a collection claim against the consumer. He claimed to have a written lease cancellation agreement with the landlord. We do not see one in the file. He has not provided us with a copy of this agreement or proof he paid the cancellation fee. Regarding contact at work, one letter was sent to...

him c/o his place of employment. The outside of the envelope was clearly marked in in red "PERSONAL & CONFIDENTIAL" There is no marking on the envelope indicating it is from a collection agency. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, once a debtor notifies the agency to cease conact at work, the agency must do so. Once he notified us to cease contact at work, we did so.

Review: This company filed a collection item on my Experian credit report that resulted in my score being reduced two levels from Good, past fair and down to high risk. I have never heard of them before, have no idea what the debt they are trying to collect is and they have not returned any of my calls asking for resolution.Desired Settlement: I want them to contact experian and remove the debt from my credit immediately. I also want a letter explaining who they were collecting for so I can contact that person directly and make sure that nobody has run up a debt in my name.

We sent a letter to him on 8/**/13 to the address you have on file. We did not get any response. We sent him a final notice on 10/**/13 to the same address again with no response. On April **, 2014 he called and asked us to mail validation of the debt to him at the same address. We mailed validation documents on April **, 2014. We will be happy to delete this item from his Experian Credit Report (as a courtesy) if he will pay his bill.
