Review: I reserved a truck through DB for 7/31-8/1 in Madison, Wisc. Upon arriving, I was told that I had not made a reservation, but I had just reserved the rate. Through my email confirmation and in talking to [redacted] headquarters, I was able to confirm that I had in fact made a reservation. I was told they did not have a truck for me. [redacted] told me that he realized yesterday (7/30) that he didn't have a truck, but didn't call me and tell me because that was not his job to do so.

Instead of trying to honor this contract, [redacted] told me there was nothing he could do. In submitting this complaint, I just want to warn other people not to use DB for moving because they are not reliable and their customer service is atrocious.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology from DB, and I would like them to treat future customers differently so no one else ends up in this situation.

Yes, [redacted] had a reservation for a truck. But when she made this reservation she

did not put any contact phone numbers on it. I discovered th is on July 30th when I attempted to contact

her to tell her that the truck assigned to her rental would be delayed by a few hours. ([redacted] was

transferring trucks from [redacted] and they were delayed.) [redacted] did not come in to pick up

the truck, but a man she sent called her and said that the truck was not here and he gave me his phone

to talk to her. I tried to tell her that [redacted] was bringing her a truck but that it had not arrived yet . She

became very upset and was using vile language that I asked her not to use or I would hang up. She

continued her rant so I hung up. The helper she sent to get the truck left. He came back about 45

minutes later and I told him that his truck would be ready in about 5 minutes, as it had just arrived and

needed to be filled with fuel. He told me to forget it and left. This could have all been avoided if [redacted]

had put a contact number on her reservation.

The copy that Ms. [redacted] sent to you was an email copy from [redacted] to her. We do not

see this. [redacted] only sends us limited information due to privacy laws. I looked up her information

personally when I realized that her truck would be delayed and there was no phone number there. This

is why I didn't call her. I have enclosed my copy of the reservation to show you all the Information that

[redacted] allows us to see. The only difference now is that it says it was capcelled which it was. I hope this

helps.

Review: I rented a moving truck from this business on 01/11/14. The older gentleman who worked there, either the manager or owner of the business worked with my situation and put a $270.00 hold on my account, and informed me that the total amount due would be around that amount, maybe a little closer to $300.00. I told him that was great because I only had $300.00 max to spend on the truck rental. He told me that should be plenty. However, the $270.00 hold was processed on 01/14/14 along with an additional amount of $63.79. I called the business on 01/14/14 to inquire about the charges, and the worker told me that the owner was out of the office, and he proceeded to take down my name and number to have him call me back. It is currently 01/28/14 and I have not heard back.Desired Settlement: Since I was told it would be $300.00 max, I want the difference of $33.79 refunded to me - as I did not give them permission to take that amount from me.

After reviewing [redacted] complaint, I apologize that I did not receive any notification from my employee to contact her regarding her rental. Upon further review, I did speak with the person that

I went in for an oil change and to get my tires rotated, and mentioned that my steering wheel wobbled a bit. They started with the wheel after explaining it could be the tires and balance. When I returned, they had not done any work (thank you) but told me I'd need to replace some very expensive parts of the car, including the inside of the transmission ($1600-1800), plus tires (they also suggested I think about selling the car because the repair work might not be worth the trade-in value). The tires made sense to me. After much thought and research online (Car Talk website, including Mechanic Files were helpful), I found a place to get a second opinion. They said nothing about the transmission issue, only recommended I get new tires and replace the brakes (it was about time).

I recently moved to Madison and did not know anyone who could give me a recommendation. I went here because this is where I returned my Budget Truck. They were very nice, but this time I'm not sure they were honest with me. I don't know much about cars, but that's no reason to be taken advantage of. I won't be going back, and with the extensive list of well-recommended mechanics on Mechanics File and Angie's List, I don't have to.
