We called out DC A/C Services on July [redacted] 2013 around 10 am because our outside A/C unit fan was not working. We turned off our unit and waited for [redacted] to arrive. When he got here he nerve told us there was a 125.00 fee for him showing up. He went right to work taking apart our unit. He did his test and saw that there were ants in the unit. We asked if it was still under factory warranty due to he fact was had it installed only 4 years ago by a different company. He said no. Now we find out it is still under warranty. He also said if it was warranty work he would still have fee's to charge us because he would have to do paperwork to get his money back and that would be a pain dealing with the company. Anyway. He starts pulling out parts and when we ask what he is doing he says he's replacing the connector and putting on a hard start kit that should have been put on when it was installed. When we asked if the part was bad he said it had to be because of the ants. He never checked to see if it was bad. My husband told him he was not paying 620.00 for the parts and to just leave the unit alone. That's when he told us we owed him 125.00 for him coming out. We told him he did nothing to warrant that he said he did. Whatever. Then he said it needed to be cleaned out from the ants so he blow the ants out of the unit. It started right up. No problems. When we asked why he was trying to change out a good part and add a part that it didn't need he said. He changes out parts good or bad so he doesn't have to come back out. He feels better with new parts on the unit. He's ripping people off to the tune of hundreds of dollars by changing out parts that don't need to be. He never once stepped foot into my home to see if the air was even on or running cool. He also at one point try6ed to make the contractor go out by taking the wiring off while it was plugged in . We talked to my father in law who has done A/C work his whole life and the only reason he could fix it that day was because he's had a stroke said you should never work on a unit with current and he was trying to burn the part out so we would have to buy it. We did have to pay him the 125.00 fee. We should have but to get him off our property we did. This company is doing really bad business.
