DC Custom Guitars Reviews (2)

I have asked DC Custom Guitars to modify my guitar fingerboard for scalloping several times. However, this time DC custom guitars clearly made errors to grind the higher frets of my new [redacted] guitar. The depth gaps between 1-16 fret area and 17-20 fret area are huge (Note: I can send you the photos upon your requests). This is why they can not reset the position marks for 17th & 19th frets. This service was poorly done. They busted my new guitar even though I inquired whether they can work [redacted] in advance. Partial loss of position marks of guitar is hard to play. This is the most ugliest guitar I've ever played.Product_Or_Service: Scalloping workDesired SettlementThey should refund the damaged cost on my part - [redacted] guitar fee [redacted] plus mod fee [redacted] The refund total should be [redacted] Or they can work again by buying the new [redacted] by themself and do the job again ...... I will exchange this ugly one for the new one with all the position marks.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]Customer requested a scalloped fretboard modification to a stock Ibanez hollow body guitar with block inlays and a bound fretboard. Prior to engaging in the work, customer was warned this work was very sensitive in nature, and block inlays may be lost with the modification (since the wood is removed between the fretboard and stock inlays are usually very thin and are made of synthetic material ( plastic). Modification was completed and only the last 2 inlays were lost. Side dots still remained and the work was completed in a professional nature ( Photos available). Customer was fully aware of every step of the modification via photos sent to his email which clearly showed the last 2 fret markers removed. Just prior to shipping the guitar back to the customer he then stated he did not want the guitar back and demanded I either buy his guitar or refund his money for the service plus the cost of the guitar. I told him I was not interested in buying his guitar and as stated on the dccustomguitars.com website there is no refunds on custom work.Guitar was shipped back to customer and customer continued to harass via email stating I must buy his guitar.I stated I was not interested in buying his guitar and the work was completed successfully and professionally. Customer continued to harass sending threatening emails demanding to buy his guitar. I stated again I was not interested in buying his guitar, and would ( though I do not refunds on custom work ) would offer client a [redacted] service credit to cover his issue with the last 4 frets of the guitar. Customer then replied and threatened he would report service to the Revdex.com. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Untrue.Before [redacted] job, I asked him to work on [redacted] guitar [redacted] which is a hollow body, too. It was fine. So I asked him whether he can work on expensive model [redacted] Then he said he wanted to do - no warning; but he failed. I asked him to do the scallop modification a several times so far. If Revdex.com wants to research, Revdex.com should send an officer from IRS to see if how many jobs he took from [redacted] Payment records through Paypal never lie. Revdex.com will know which one is saying true.I didn't harrass him. He's cooking up stories. I requested the compensation for his fatal error. But he is very stubborn. His attitude is very arrogant for consumers. That is why I contacted Revdex.com for all the other consumers. What I said to DC custom guitars is the same as I requested through Revdex.com.There is no contract form on this work (Can you find any PDF downloadable contract form in their homepage?) We only exchange emails and I paid by PayPal. And he knows he made a fatal error. If he warned me he can't work well on [redacted] I will never ask him to do the job. Another fine guitar repairman would remove the neck and can do the job as I requested (but DC custom guitars technique is not that good). I think DC custom guitars can't refret the hollow body guitar nicely if they can't reset the position mark.In [redacted] I received his email stating, "Thanks for your patience in me getting the photos to you. Today while starting to finish sanding the last 2 fretmarkers fractured - they were very thin and the factory used a ton of epoxy to install them. I was fortunate the fretboard had enough material to remove them and scallop deep enough to remove the epoxy. What we have ended up with is the last 4 frets deeper scalloped than the rest of the board the fret before is a transition fret scallop that belnds them both nicely - I think it looks very good still and reminds me of the [redacted] jem...but with a std scallop across the fretboard with the last 4 a bit deeper." So he knows he made the fatal error in the last 4 frets. I asked him to reset the position marks in reply; but he couldn't do so after all. DC Custom Guitars should give a clear warning in his homepage by saying "Sometimes I made a fatal error and position marks will be lost partially. But customers still have to PAY." And this warning should be mentioned in the contract form. All the jobs should be done with the contract form. Then, I will never use their service again. And I would like to request DC custom guitars to return the outer box of [redacted] I only received the inner box. I really need the outerbox to ship out this guitar to the other place.Final Business Response Work was completed in a professional manner and guitar is 100% functional. Modification was successful with no loss of instrument visual appeal or playability. Client was aware of each step of the modification process with detailed photos. Note: Option to upload or provide photos here of the work completed would be valuable to defend this complaint. I provide a service to modify guitar fret boards, and have no interest to buy this clients guitar because he changed his mind about having the work done. Per request, Original empty box was shipped back to client (Cost [redacted] USPS Tracking XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX .Thanks.
