Review: On August 3, 2014 [redacted] dba D&D Builders contracted to extend my boat dock at [redacted] Lane, Galveston, TX 77504. He required a deposit of more than $2000.00 and deposited the check the next day. He contractually committed to secure the permit and construct a 4'x25' extension. According to the City of Galveston Permit Department nearly two months later he has not applied for a permit and they have no record of him being a registered contractor in the City of Galveston. He has done no work, has not returned phone calls, has not refunded the deposit and appears to have no intention of fulfilling his obligation. By his lack of action and failure to respond it seems apparent that from the beginning his intention was to offer the contract, require the deposit, spend the money, and never perform the construction.Desired Settlement: Mr. [redacted] should demonstrate that it was not his intent to steal or defraud by either returning the deposit or immediately constructing the dock extension per his contract.
