DD Griffith

I hired Mr. Griffith initially to put a new roof on my house. The house needed a huge amount of other work which Mr. Griffith said he could do as well. I hired him to replace some vinyl siding, repair and install sheetrock on interior walls, do mudding on those walls, and do new plumbing after building a 14' outdoor wall with windows and door. The basic structural work performed was way below common construction practices. The sheetrock mudding was not to "paint ready" as agreed upon. The plumbing was so inadequate that I have now hired another plumber to redo the entire plumbing situation. None of the work performed was completed according to contract. This left every single job requiring me to hire additional help. The money paid to Mr. Griffith was over $29,000 paid in installments. All along, Mr. Griffith assured me that the work would be completed in a timely manner and that he stood behind the work. I tried to contact Mr. Griffith several times by phone and text message (which he had always answered while working on the job) but he stopped answering calls and messages. I gave Mr. Griffith a month before hiring anyone else in order to give him time to respond. He never did.

I have tried contacting the owner of this construction company several times via email and text messages after his company installed my luxury vinyl plank flooring. The flooring was not installed correctly and I have requested he come out to my residence and look at the work his employees did so we can have it fixed. There were pieces not properly locked into place that my husband pointed out during the install process. The crew member refused to fix the issue while the install was going on and said it was the best he could do. There is also several pieces of wood that were not cut properly to the correct size which is now resulting in gaps along my stairs and cabinets in my kitchen and bathroom. I also have baseboard trim that is damaged due to a tool that was used to lock pieces into place that were against walls. No proper protection was used to protect the trim. The owner never came back out once the job was finished to review his crews work or get our approval the job was done to our satisfaction. I have tried contacting the owner before filing this complaint so he could make it right but he will not respond back to me.

We hired Dale Griffith (aka D D Griffith) to replace a roof at a rental property where the tenant had reported a leak. We paid in full Dale immediately after he said the job was completed. A few days later it started to rain, and the tenant reported many leaks with water coming through the ceiling.

We asked Dale to fix the roof that he had replaced and honor his workman's warranty. However Dale refused, walked away from the job, and stopping responding to messages. Upon further inspection by several other roofers we were told that the work Dale had done was completely faulty and the work had to be redone. We had to spend another $3700 to have it done.

We contacted the insurance company that Dale had provided us for the job. Unfortunately, we were told that the insurance document given to us was fraudulently created and there was actually no insurance policy that would cover the damages.

We investigated suing Dale Griffith to recover the damages, however he does not use a bank account, and we believe that there are already other judgments against him which haven't been recovered.

As such, we have taken a total loss on the money paid to him, and would caution anyone else of this.
