Review: Contract signed in 10/13 for work to be done. Work was to be done in a 2-3 month period maximum- he is still not done. Contractor, [redacted] went on vacation after singing and did not make arrangements for the work to start. In addition, he did not tape off the remainder of the house while the work was being done, resulting in the rest of the house being covered in dust and debris. This is after we made it clear that our children suffer from respiratory issues due to their prematurity. He ripped out out kitchen cabinets and island wiht the agreed upon plan that he would be providing additional cabinets and a new island with counter top mathcing that of the cabinets- not done; he returned good materials for cheaper versions; he put nails in metal transition strips which are protruding and resulting in both of my children's feet getting cut due to being sharp; he has yet to put the vent in my kitchen; he has yet to put in the kick start heater in the kitchen that he said he would; he cut up the wood door jams and inadequately repaired them with wood pieces and unsanded plaster; he did not clean up after himself- it took us several days to clean the home and make it livable again; my children has stay wiht a relative for 3 months as a result of this; the walls and ceilings were not sanded properly resulting large bumps of visible unsanded dry wall; my kitchen stove is a tip over hazard for my two small children as the plug was not installed properly resulting in the stove not being able to be flushed with the cabinets; when I addressed these issues, he was unresponsive and went so far as to call me a "[redacted]" to his worker. My significant other overheard him calling me this, as his worker had him on speaker phone ( unknown to him). He changed the materials that we picked and installed the materials that he wanted to. When I asked him for timelines and explanation of work to be done- he did not respond. He is now asking me for the remainder of the money with above outstanding issues.Desired Settlement: I will now have to spend additional monies to fix the issues that he created as a result of working on my home. The work that was done is deplorable!!! My floors are uneven, there are safety concerns that I will have to pay to have resolved due to his inadequacy and refusal to fix. There are costs involved to have the work done that he was contracted to do. I would like a refund of the costs it will take to have the necessary work re- done properly.
