To whom it may concern. Reffering to the complaint # XXXXXXXX..
D&D Quality Home Improvement did a remodel, fire restoration job @ 2[redacted]. Greenvalley IL, XXXXX.
First thing, this letter-complaint is far stretched from the...

truth. We had 6 months to complete the job. Unfortunately we ended up being 1-2 weeks short on time. When I asked the home owner ([redacted]) for an extra 1-2 weeks to finish the job he refused and told me to remove all of my tools etc from the worksite, [redacted] Greenvalley IL, XXXXX.
This house is from the early 1900's, the house is old and crooked, un level and not quite square. Everything we did turned out nice. I have pictures of the house before I started, during, and pictures of the house the day I was told to leave.
(Painting) All the painting we did turned out very nice, and we used Glidden Paint.
(Floor) For the floors, they were laminated wood and they were good and tightly laid, the 2 rooms with carpet turned out very nice as well. I have pictures as well.
(Insurance) As for the insurance, I did EXACTLY what ([redacted])(Ins Rep) he said. When the job was 100% done the Insurance Company & Bank will come out and inspect. Then we would receive the final payments. As for the receipts, I only turned in receipts that were for this job...
We did a remodel, not a brand new build. I have a list of several extras that the homeowner ([redacted]) wanted done. We did every extra he asked for in which he still owes for. (Aside from the original job.) I have tried to talk and work out something to come complete the job with the homeowner so the job will be 100% finished but he just wants me to sin the checks over to him. We have to come to an agreement together if not we will have to go to next phase!! When at the job and they didn't like something we fixed it to their liking.
The contractor and homeowner have to work together. I have tried to text and call to get the job done and I will continue to until the job is 100% done, and everyone is happy.
Thank you for you time!!!

P.S. I called in response and talked to [redacted] as soon as I received the letter.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 14, 2016/07/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Fist off I removed things from the original stuff he was supposed to do like tile floor and tounge and groove wood on the ceilings and so on and replaced it with vital floor and drywall ceiling to do the different stuff I wanted done in the house. The carpet is seemed together wrong and even a 1 year old can tell and is pulling it when they are on the floor playing. I did not give them extra time because the whole time they had mainly 1-2 guys working usually about 4-5 hours out of the day and out of the 6 months no one worked there for about 1-1.5 months total days because they were all "sick". So no if you are never there I will not give extra time you should have been working. Insurance stopped paying for me a place to stay and I needed my house back. When I moved back in plumbing was not done doors were not on siding was not on wiring was not done right air was not hooked up and do on. Plus he kept stalling and telling me he needs more time. His workers said he was out of money and looking for other jobs to get money to finish mine up. There was also stuff he told me he would do but never did and never told me he wasn't going to do like put in a door in the front with glass on both sides. Later on I just seen 3 cheap doors I never picked out in my house then he said well I told you we weren't doing that door it was too expensive. Then don't tell me your going to do it and not so it and buy cheap doors that I never wanted. Also when they got kicked out none of the doors closed right and they were slready dented and banged up from them hitting the doors with stuff. Put in smaller Windows than supposed too and ones upstairs are in crooked.
