De La Torre Orthotics and Prosthetics

Review: They billed myself and my insurance company for my prosthetics inserts. I payed and my insurance company payed. They owe me a refund of $188.98. This happened at the end of May. It is now the August. I have contacted them several times. They have a different excuse every time of why they have not sent me a refund yet. I try to call them now and they do not even return the phone call.Desired Settlement: Refund of $188.98 immediately.

To Whom It May Concern, This response is concerning complaint ID [redacted] Billing or collections issues.

Efforts taken to rectify/resolve Customer’s Statement of problem:

Patients insurance was billed and they paid at a higher level than anticipated for date of Service 5/21/13. This insurance payment was posted to patients account on 6/11/2013, showing a refund due to patient in the amount of 188.98. Insurance refunds are routinely done approximately once monthly. On 7/31/13 message was left on machine to call us back regarding refund. On 8/1/13 refund check was mailed in the amount of 188.98.

On 8/9/13 patient called stating he never received the refund check. On 8/13/13 a new refund check was issued and mailed and a stop/cancel on the original/missing check was done.

I left messages on both 8/12/13 and 8/13/13 to inform patient of the refund check status and to inform him of the missing check# that could no longer be cashed, and to give the check# of the valid check ok to cash.
