Yesterday I was trying to get a meal at Mayfair Mall in Milwaukee and I was stopped by a very aggressive salesperson at the Mineral Cosmetics kiosk by Panera.
[redacted] talked me into buying a bunch of stuff because he was incredibly pushy and manipulative. I kept telling him I could not afford it and it did not matter to him at all. When I looked at the receipt, I was very upset to find out that the company does not give out refunds.
I think their business practices are unscrupulous. There were no prices on any of the items. [redacted] claimed that the Facial Peel was worth 200 dollars and I could get the Night Cream for half off and then he would throw in another Facial Peel, the Day Cream, Toner and Milk Cleanser for free. However, the receipt told a different story:
2 Facial Peels = $100
Night Cream = $50
Day Cream = $50
Toner = $25
Milk Cleanser = $25
So basically I paid full price for everything and I got nothing for free. I did not even want any of this extra stuff. I was sort of interested in buying ONE facial peel. Why couldn't he let me buy that one thing for $50? Why did he lie to me and tell me it was worth $200 and that the other stuff was free, when clearly it was not worth $200 and the other things were not free. He also claimed that the woman who was also at the kiosk would give me a bag of free makeup if I came back after eating dinner. That was also a lie, because when I went back 20 minutes later to try to return the items, neither one of them were there.
[redacted] also claimed the peel would clear up a cyst that I have on my cheek and I think that was a lie as well. The packing says nothing about healing cysts on it. He also made me very uncomfortable by suggesting that we should date and that I should buy dinner for him. I know he was just trying to be flattering to make a sale, but that is really going too far.
When I went back to the kiosk a different young man was there and he told me to call customer service. I tried calling the number last night and again this morning, but no one answered or called me back. I already made a complaint to Mayfair Mall stating that I don't even want to go back into the mall if I am going to be stopped by aggressive salespeople and tricked into spending a lot of money that I don't have.
I am really hoping that they will allow me to return all of the items that I don't want because the pricing was completely misrepresented to me by [redacted] and I am very upset.
