Thanks so much for the responseWe let you know prior to sending the subwoofers back that they were not covered if blown/burnt/or physically damaged(Please see attached email)You still sent them backWe offered back in April to have them sent back to you as is, but you told me you didn't want them back and you wanted us to keep trying to get them covered for youWe even covered return shipping back to you which technically was not covered by a physically damaged itemWe incurred $in shipping charges due to this. These subwoofers are not covered under warranty as they are physically damagedThis is not a warranty issue.Thank you,Dealer Cost Car Audio

The buyer burnt the voice coils on his Kicker subwoofer which is technically not covered under warrantyPlease see:http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/shipping-and-returns/"DCCA defines abuse as, but not limited to, burnt voice coils, (blackened, no continuity, melted adhesives, coil separated from
the former, etc.) blown subwoofers/speakers, punctured or damaged surrounds, broken speaker terminals, bent, chipped or broken frames, ripped spiders or damaged back platesSpeakers submitted with any of the above will be considered out of warrantyDCCA shall not be held liable for incidental loss of use, installation or removal and reinstallation charges associated with defective or returned productProducts that have been improperly installed may not be covered by this or any other warrantyWe highly recommend having all car stereo equipment professionally installed."Regardless, as a one time courtesy we agreed to replace the subwoofer he sent usAs the Kicker subwoofer he requested was not available to us and not in stock, he requested to receive a JL Audio subwoofer as a substituteWe shipped a JL Audio 12W3v3-on 07/22/The tracking number is *** via ups.com.The lengthy timeframe of this transaction was due to his request of having an alternate subwoofer sent to him instead of the one he originally sent backAgain, this was all done out of courtesy.Best,DCCA

We appreciate the Revdex.com's service to bring valid complaints where customers seek a reasonable resolution that is within the company's limitations to a mutual settlementHowever we do not believe the Revdex.com is a tool to be used as a leverage vehicle to force companies to give them something that is
outside the standard terms and conditions and limitationsIn this particular case, that is exactly what our customer, *** ***, threatened to do and followed through with.I have attached the initial correspondance (exhibit "A") which stated that the buyer had "blown" his first speakerAlso, I have attached correspondance (exhibit "B") where he states the second speaker is cracked. Our terms and conditions for the warranty that our buyer agreed to upon purchasing our items are as follows in regards to his speakers:Quoted from - http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/shipping-and-returns/"Abuse and/or Installation Error:DCCA defines abuse as, but not limited to, burnt voice coils, (blackened, no continuity, melted adhesives, coil separated from the former, etc.) blown subwoofers/speakers, punctured or damaged surrounds, broken speaker terminals, bent, chipped or broken frames, ripped spiders or damaged back platesSpeakers submitted with any of the above will be considered out of warrantyDCCA shall not be held liable for incidental loss of use, installation or removal and reinstallation charges associated with defective or returned productProducts that have been improperly installed may not be covered by this or any other warrantyWe highly recommend having all car stereo equipment professionally installed."and"Due to the popularity of people performing self installation on items they do not know how to install we can no longer warranty multiple item casesFor instance if you have three subwoofers and all three end up notworking, or you have four coaxial speakers and all of them produce no soundFinally If you have an amplifier/speaker combination in which both have gone bad at or around the same time we can no longer help with these issuesWe are more than happy to help customers that have an actual problem with an item not those who accidentally destroy their whole system then blame the productIf you have multiple problems consistently please realize the obvious (it might be your install!)."To be more specific for those that may not be familiar with what causes a blown subwooferIt is abuse that comes from putting too much wattage to the speakers, playing them past distortion, or having them improperly installedIt fits under the same principal as a new vehicle that is under warrantyThe warranty of a new car does not cover a car accidentThe warranty only covers a factory defectThat is why we clearly place our terms on every page of our website, and require all customers to agree to our terms and conditions through the checkout process.Out of courtesy, we paid to return the subwoofers back to *** *** located at *** *** *** ** ***We shipped them back to him in the same condition as we received the returned woofers using tracking number ***This package was delivered on Friday 07/22/at 4:PMPlease see attached proof of delivery (exhibit "C").We also want to comment on the statement where he thought our staff was rude and unprofessionalWe disagree with this completelyWe worked with the customer trying to explain the issues and why they weren't coveredWe were always kind and courteous to our customer. -Dealer Cost

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

you guys were rude by leaving my on the call waiting line for hours. each time I talked to you they were not very understanding and always talked down to me. More then one time they simply hung up on me. When I email them stating what I seen on the speakers and I did not lie they said send them back and they would help me out. I sent them back and paid for them to be sent back even after I ask are you going to help me or should I send them straight to jl audio they said they would help out and replace the speakers. I did not abuse them or install them wrong. I had a professional do it. I did not even get to use them for more then two weeks and only used them for 4 hours at most. There was a flaw in the speakers they sent me or they were used ones. The reason I believe that is they don't come with serial numbers and that means they are getting them from a unreliable source. Since there first inspection of the speakers said their was nothing wrong with one of them and I had to tell them what their job  was that means they have no idea what their talking about. Further more they had me speakers for months. If it was so obvoiuous the problem was my fault why would they keep them for months and never get back to me unless I called and asked. That's because they know they sent me bad speaker and they were hoping I would give up. I wont give up because I was not at fault for this and they owe me new speakers. I will not give up until they reimburse me or send me new speakers.

Buyer beware. On two different occasions I have tried to buy from this company. They advertise below market prices on items they do not have in stock and cannot ship. In both cases they authorized my credit card which placed a hold on the funds for over a week. In both cases I had to contact them to learn they were not goi g to ship the item. Once is a fluke, twice is a regular business practice. I later learned they settled a class action suit for this same practice in 2013. Surprised they are still around.

Review: I have all the email logs... A Dealercarcostaudio.com sales manager said I can return my item and exchange it... I had an item for less 30 days and never even used it, sent it back, and now there playing games... I dont want nothing to do with them... Repeat, I HAVE ALL THE EMAIL LOGS for PROOF... I ordered car speakers 10/2/13 and shipped them back on 10/23/13, 10/22/13 is when the manager confirmed I can send them back for an exchange... I paid $299 no shipping no tax.Desired Settlement: I want my $299 refund

Response:

Buyer sent back speakers for an exchange with a 6.5" version of the speaker. Unfortunately, as we clearly let the buyer know, the 6.5" version was backordered from the manufacturer. They let us know through email that they appreciate us letting them know, and they will wait for the 6.5" to come in stock. Today, 12/09/2013, we have provided a full, 100% refund to the buyer for $299. This takes 3-4 business days to reflect on the statement.
