Thank you for outreaching. Dean Health Plan has reviewed the complaint and based on Medicare guidelines this member is unable to be reinstated into the Dean Care Gold plan. Dean Care Gold Plan is currently not accepting new membership - the Gold plan has not been an open plan eligible for new sales since 2015. Due to these reasons, once a disenrollment is initiated with the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS), reinstatement back into the plan the disenrollment was requested for cannot be granted.

Dean Health Plan has favorably resolved the members concerns. The members account has been updated to reflect a $0 balance due and the member was contacted on 3/5/17 to advise of the outcome.

Do not buy this insurance. They will nickel and dime you to death and they have unfavorable customer service. Their coverage through the market place is horrible and very expensive. The jacked up my premium over 100% and I never even had a claim the previous year. Ridiculous to expect healthy people to pay for your sick people so your CEO can have a big bonus every year. Shame on you

Review: I cancelled my Health plan with Dean Care in December 2013, as of today I did not receive my refund $224.72.

I contacted Dean Care several times regarding the refund, the customer representatives kept asking me to wait.

It is absolutely unreasonable to hold my money for morn than Three months.Desired Settlement: Issue me the refund right away!!!

Review: I paid my monthly health insurance premium on the last week of December 2013.I switched insurance just after I had paid my premium. I called Dean and cancelled immediately. I was told that I would be refunded within 4-6 weeks. the amount shown on my statement from Dean shows that I'm owed $268.29 I have been sent this same billing invoice 3 times showing that Dean owes me this amount.I contacted Dean at approx 6.5 weeks and was told that the check would be in the mail within a week. I have contacted Dean 6 times since then. It is now April. I have been told that the check has been cut and I should have it within a week. I spoke to several different people at Dean and I have a recording from [redacted] on my voicemail confirming 3/19/14 that the check was cut the Friday before my call to [redacted]. This check has to travel from Madison to Stoughton about 16 miles away. The 5th phone call I was told that the check was sent on March 21st. Again no check showed up. I then called again. I was then told by the same person (not [redacted] this time) that the check was cut on March 21st. I responded by saying you told me the check was SENT on the 21st. I have proof on my billing statement that Dean owes me this money and have been told by [redacted] thru the receptionists several times that I'm owed this money. I don't know what else to do. I always paid them on time. I'm extremely frustrated that I always paid and when it comes time to be refunded. I get treated like a fool.I would like to note that [redacted] was very friendly and I'm assuming that she was just relaying a message from [redacted] in billing.Desired Settlement: I just want to be paid what is owed to me. Dean is an extremely big company and I am shocked that they can't get a check to me for $268.29 IN 3 MON. Just think about what would have happened if it was me that owed them. They not only would be sending letter after letter that I owed them, but probably would get phone calls at this point and I would be charged interest. How come consumers can't charge interest? If we could I would bet you that this type of thing would not be going on as often.

Be careful of Dean and their great promises. Please know I've been a Dean Care HMO customer since their inception, because their health care professionals are nothing but top notch, however, I also have to say that dealing with their business services part of the company is HORRENDOUS! In dealing with the Madison insurance office they are rude, unaware, uncaring and unscrupulous. I've been dealing with an Urgent Care claim for our son from May of 2013. We called and received the go ahead to allow him to go to urgent care in Eau Claire, WI, out of area, which is another pathetic 'benefit", allowing your children to be on your policy but there are no providers within hundreds of miles. So we called, it was a near emergency situation and after two years, 70 plus calls between Dean Care insurance and Mayo Clinic and we were STILL turned over to collections thanks to Dean Care. In speaking with them today AGAIN, there was no remorse, no feeling of guilt, nothing... they stated, they processed the claims according to our policy. When I asked if it was typical it took two years and the paying subscriber being turned over to collections, they again stated, they did their job. So again, the medical staff are outstanding, the insurance side... HORRENDOUS at best.
