My 08 Honda Odyssey has had to go back to the West Mifflin Dean Honda Service Center 2 times now. It’s about to be a 3rd. The first time 07/22/2020 we took it in a new battery we had installed by AAA kept dying almost everyday. The battery was new as of May 2020. After looking into the car further they said it was because of a bad alternator that was being flooded with a line that had been leaking above it. They replaced the alternator, serpentine belt and replaced the spool valve for $2,256.93. We got it home and a few days later, my car wouldn’t start again. I had a baby so the car sat until we got home from the hospital and we got it towed back to them on 08/19/2020. When they looked at it the 2nd time said the battery was faulty along with the positive and negative battery connectors and noticed the passenger side sliding door wouldn’t open. We said replace the battery and the fix the latches (which they said was the issue). It took almost 2 weeks to fix both because they had to order the part for the door. We paid $476.26 for that repair on 08/29/2020. They also noted the car started fine all week except for the day before we picked it up and needed to be jumped to start. Before we left we noticed the passenger back tire was flat, and the door alarm was going off like the door was open but It was shut. We went back inside and told them this. They then fixed the tire and told us the door motor was going out so we were going to either have to replace the door motor or just hit the button a few times to get it to lock. We chose the button method because we don’t have the $1000+ to replace the motor after spending money on all the other repairs. We picked it back up just last night on 08/04/2020 and I went to start it this morning 08/05/2020 and it would not start. I have all the service records on what they did. I am extremely dissatisfied because we have paid $2,733.19 in total and my car STILL does not start! I feel like the money I have spent was for nothing at this point. I am a mother of 5 children that depends on this car to get back and forth to places while my husband is at work. This van has been in and out of their shop for over a month now and the problem still exists. We took our car here because it is a Honda and their service techs are suppose to be Honda experts with all their training. If I am not compensated in some way for my time and for the repairs that were made that didn’t make a difference I will take this up the ladder to corporate until something has been done.

The vehicle in question had passed PA state and emissions inspection and was judged to be safe and in good operating condition by our technicianThe slight leak in the valve cover is a common defect in older vehicles such as this one, and was not judged to be of detriment to the operating condition of the vehicle Changing the belts as the customer requested is a maintenance-related issue, nothing that requires immediate action in order for the vehicle to be safe and operableWhile it is suggested to replace these belts at certain intervals, we may not always perform these maintenance services on older vehicles like this one in order to pass a lower price on to the customer We regret not being able to help this customer in her search for a new vehicle, and wish her the best of luck in her shopping process
