Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
I am pursuing civil action and hopefully criminal prosecution against [redacted]. He has committed fraud and ever since he decided to take my money and quit he has tried to blame me for it but he is the one who has failed to complete the contracted work and he is the one who took my money and didn't provide the services and products that the money was promised to pay for. His accusation that I haven't told the truth is simply laughable. I have a full accounting of all work that [redacted] was hired for and all of the money that I paid to him and he would have been paid in whole if he had finished the job. As it was I prepaid him for a substantial portion of the work and he took that money and ran. What's more his workers took 45 min. to an hour long smoke breaks three to four times per day in addition to their lunch break which often lasted over an hour. That is when they showed up at all, there were weeks at a time where no workers came to my house to do anything. I did everything I could to keep Dean and his workers working on my house including providing him with money to meet his payroll and paying for materials myself, even though most of the materials I purchased I had already paid Dran to purchase (i.e. the siding).
I filed this complaint so that the Revdex.com would know that [redacted] is a fraud and that they should not allow him to continue to use their name and logo on his business forms. I hope that the financial pain and stress that I have suffered at the hands of [redacted] can be spared from anyone else.

[redacted] was to have the painting completed by his painter back in March so that we could finish installing his vanities and install the the tile back splash which per the contract he was to provide. He called me around the beginning of July to tell me that the painting was completed which I then...

asked him if the tile was on site and he told me no it was not that I needed to pick it up I then responded with the fact that it was his responsibility to get it to the job site. When  he finally called and said he was ready for us I told him at this point my schedule was full for the next 3 months. This project should have been completed in April. Due to his lack of management on this job it wasn't completed in the time frame that it should have been. I will refund his money for materials. I talked to [redacted] 2 weeks ago to have him send me a break down and I have yet to receive the paperwork from him.

[redacted],s response stating that the work was done poorly is a joke [redacted] and myself had walked though the property and looked at the trim and the doors prior to his painter coming through and painting. All of the door operated perfectly at that time. as far as drywall splitting  this is being caused by moisture in the attic above the master bedroom ( a roof leak that [redacted] was made aware of back in February ) my offer that I made on my last response stands. As far as dodging [redacted]'s phone calls is insane he has not once called the office phone about this matter.

Dean Wood's response is again not acceptable nor accurate.   His most recent answers to my complaint that the drywall on the new ceiling that he installed is a result of a  "moisture problem" he told me about is yet another lie to cover his poor workmanship and another poor attempt to try and obscure the facts of this complaint.   I've spent over $50k on this project and if there were any issue with moisture I would never have installed new ceilings, insulation and drywall in those areas.
He lied again with his claim that it is "insane" that he dodged my calls because I didn't call his office.  I have worked with Dean Wood for over a year and have had dozens and dozens and dozens of phone calls with him and have ONLY talked with him on ONE phone number, ever and he is the owner of the company.   As previously stated he has consistently dodged my phone calls, failed to return messages and continually lied about promising to finish the project when he answered his phone by calling him from different phone numbers that where he did not recognize the caller ID.
I will accept the prior offer I put forth and nothing less.
Dean Wood Home Improvements is a company that has indeed stolen my money, continually dodged my phone calls, not returned my voice messages,   He continues to fail to fully reimburse me on advanced monies under  the contract he failed to fulfill even throughout the course of this complaint.
Dean Wood Home Improvements LLC is a company that should be avoided at all costs and all Revdex.com inquiries should be made aware of his dishonest business practices and poor workmanship.

Review: Dean Wood Home Improvements has walked away from a construction remodel contract and not refunded advanced monies for the project he has collected. He breached his contract by not providing neither the materials nor the labor to complete the scope of work specified in his contract. Completed work is not in a good and workman like manner.

He initially kept telling me he would complete the work but never did. After numerous attempts to get him to complete the work I told him I wanted him to refund the money he is holding of mine and I would find others to complete the job. Since then he has steadfastly refused to return phone calls, emails and text messages.

Additionally he has provided substandard work from brand new drywall that splitting along seams, brand new doors he installed that will not latch nor close. Consequently I have had to hire others to continue to complete the project.Desired Settlement: Refund of the money he is holding for work and materials he did not provide nor perform and the costs associated by having to hire others to complete the job and repair his sub standard workmanship.

Review: [redacted] Company renovated a bathroom. His company was paid the same day they finished the job. The new bathtub they installed had a very deep scratch. The grout was very badly and unprofessionnally finished. We complained and they sent a handy man to look at the work. This handy man promised to come back and fix the tub and the grout. This handyman wanted to stop by on a day he was in the neighborhood, but we were not available that day and we told him so on the phone, so he promised to come back another time whenever he was in the area. We called back several times with no one answering our call. Finally, today Mr. [redacted] took the call and refused to fix the problems, alledging that he had sent someone twice, but that our manager failed to meet with them. This is a total lie. No appointment was ever set. If he sent someone over without notifying us, he shouldn't expect to get in. This is a rental property and we need to inform the tenant 24h ahead of time whenever we need to go in.

Mr. [redacted] was very unproffessional on the phone, was very antagonistic as soon as he knew who I was (even though it was the first time I talked to him since he finished work). He refused to discuss the problem and hung up on me!Desired Settlement: If he can't fix his mistakes, and has no one to do it (just learned that the person who worked on our property left the company) he needs to pay for it to be fixed by a different contractor. The bathtub needs to be replaced and the grout fixed adequately

Hi my name is [redacted] owner of [redacted] Home improvementsI have sent an employee down to the property twice to fix the grout both times we were not able to get into the property both trips down to the property where scheduled with the property m.anager [redacted] she faild twice to show up and let us in as for the scratch in the bath tub that was caused by the property owners tenants which is not covered under the warranty. Bottom line is we tryed twice to resolve the issue with grout but as the owner of the business I'm not going to keep paying someone to go on a wild goose chase when the customer dosnt care to show up to let us in. We have tryed to make it right

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Mr. [redacted] came back and fixed the problem.

Review: [redacted] entered into a contract with me for an extensive home remodeling and addition project in June of 2014. I was never given an expected completion date but was given the expectation that the project should take six months. In June of 2015 [redacted] walked off the job after taking prepayments for approximately 95% of the work and having completed only approximately 60% of the work. Much of the work that was done was not done in a workmanlike manner, for example not a single interior doorway rough opening was the proper size to install a standard 80" pre hung door. [redacted] left my house without siding and it was not weatherproof which led to water intrusion in several areas of the home. At the time he ordered his workers to leave he told me on the phone, "I'm losing money on your house and I'm not willing to lose any more of my money on your house." We have a contract with a specific scope of work and a price for which that work would be done. We also agreed to a few change orders for which I paid him and only one was completed. Since June 2015 I have had to hire a new contractor to finish the house and have had to take on many aspects of the project myself. [redacted] left me without much money left and with a large amount of work either unfinished or not started in addition to the work that was done poorly. I have had to buy materials and pay for others to do jobs that I had already paid [redacted] for. He has clearly violated our contract and has violated state law. The delay that he has caused has cost me money in interest and extra payments on the mortgage to a house that cannot be occupied and for all of the financing that I have had to procure to try to finish after he took my money and left. My attempts to negotiate with [redacted] to get him to return to the job were met with indifference to the situation that he was putting me in.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded all of the prepaid funds for the aspects of the job that were never completed and/or not started. I would like a full accounting, dollar for dollar, as to where my money went. I would also like to be reimbursed for all materials that I purchased for the job that were supposed to be supplied by [redacted].

Response:

Mr [redacted], has failed to tell the truth in his complaint, he has left out that he orderd an additional $60,000.00 plus in work on the project in which has no money to pay for the additional work, all monies received have been spent on this project. all receipts for materials and labor have been accounted for they were given to mr [redacted] and his attorney 3 months ago.
