I purchased a camry v6 engine rebuild kit that was recommended, even though we did not recognize the manufacturer name, and were assured it was a good kit. They machined the block, refinished the heads. When we picked up the items the block was covered in plastic, the heads were not. When we started assembling the motor, we had to clean oil, dirt, and leftover gasket material that they didnt bother to remove. I now have only about 5000k miles on the motor, and both cam seals leak a lot, as well as both valve cover gaskets leak a lot. The excessive oil leakage has caused the A-arm bushings to fail on the passenger side. When I called the shop owner yesterday and explained this, he said they must have been installed incorrectly. They do not offer warranty on anything but labor items. He said they have had complaints about their seals, and I asked why we were told this was a good kit in the beginning. Im looking at $1900.00 to repair the leaks and damage caused by them...on top of the 1600.00 spent on machining and parts from this shop. Im not happy at all, been in this business for 30yrs. Buyer beware!!
