Working with Deans Construction is always a pleasant experience! [redacted] and his employees specialize in more than just concrete work, therefore, he has done a lot of different work for me and my husband. Their work speaks volumes for itself! [redacted] is an honest and very pleasant man to do business with! I will recommend him and his employees to do work for anyone! Great experience!

I would like to start by saying that I am truly sorry that [redacted] are having a bad experience with being transplanted from Indiana to New York. I would like to also like to say that I am sorry that you feel that I let you down. As for the complaint goes I did do an...

estimate for the [redacted]'s and I also did tell them that I would be some time before I would be able to get to them due to our work load, the [redacted]'s did ask for me to give them a bid giving them a brake done  for every thing that they would like done and so that we could do one part at a time as they were moving in I told them that would be fine with me and that I would get them as I could. About a week later [redacted] did email me and told me that he would like to accept or bid for the work that they would like done and asked me if I had an idea on a time that I would be able to do the fence as that is the most important part for them due to the dogs that they have and the fence that they had would not be able to keep them in. We talked on the phone about the fence and I told him as I do with every customer of ours that it would depend on the weather as the fence has to be put in with concert and the concert will not set if the ground is to wet. The first time we were going to come out it was after 4th of July weekend the foreman that was going out to the [redacted]s come into work after drinking over the weekend so did have to cancel going out to start the fence. I did let the foreman go as to coming into work like that is not acceptable. I also did offer the [redacted] for use to do some extra work for them that they had told me that they would have liked us to do for free to make up for the delay, [redacted] said that would be great and thanks and that he knows how it is and understood what was going on. The second time that we planed on starting it was raining and had been raining for almost a week, When I called to tell [redacted] we would not be coming out due to the rain he said that he thought that we would not be coming out because of the rain. After a few days [redacted] and myself talked again planing the next day after the rain had stopped for a few days I asked him to check the ground to see if ground was wet for us to put the fence up as we are a little over an hour form him and we did not want to drive out to find out that we could not work. [redacted] told me that the ground was dry and good to go, We did go out and put the fence up as what he asked for. Latter that night I got an email from [redacted] saying how much they like the fence and asked if I could add one peace to the one corner because the chichen wire that was already in place he did not feel would keep the dogs out of the neighbors yard I told him that would not be a problem. [redacted] also asked when I would be able to come back put to board the bottom of his deck and clean out the gutters as they are giving him a hard time with all of the rain that we are having I told him that I would be out on the 16th and we would get that part done for him and also start some of the other ones on the list as well as we were planing on being out there on the 16th and 17th. As I was getting ready to head out I was stung by a bee loading up some tools as I am allergic to bees I had to take a few steps for that.  I was getting checked out [redacted] called and asked me where are you at I told him what was going on before I could even tell he I was not canceling coming out I was just going to be late he told me that he would like it if I could just bill him for what we had already done because he needs to get things done so that he could move in. All I could say at that time was I understand and that I was sorry that he felt that he had to go some were else and that I would send the bill for the work that we did then we hung up. I do not feel that the complaint is telling the whole story I was not blowing them off in any way I have been 100% honest with them and I believe that I had good reason for canceling the appointment the first time the second time was not on me or the [redacted]'s as we can not make the weather and I did not cancel on the 16th I was still planing on going out. I do think that we did the fence in a timely fashion. I was honest from the first day I meet with The [redacted]s that my work load was full and it was going to take some time for use to do the whole list that they would like done. I also did not know that they were not living in the house tell after I started the fence I thought they were already living in the house and they just didn't have the dogs there tell the fence was put up. That was why they wanted me to get the fence put up first.

Review: Please be advised that Dean's Construction owes me the sum of $10,000.00 because [redacted] of Dean's Construction failure to complete the remodel and repairs paid for and agreed to under contract.

This will be Dean's Construction's only chance to settle this matter before I file suit against Dean's Construction in Small Claims Court. I am agreeable to a lump sum payment, or to a payment plan. Please contact me on or before February 20, 2014 for purposes of settling this matter. If I do not hear from Dean's Construction on or before February 20, 2014, I will file a lawsuit against Dean's Construction without further notice. It is in Dean's Construction best interest to settle this matter before a lawsuit is filed. If a judgment is obtained against Dean's Construction, it will negatively affect Dean's Construction ability to get credit, Dean's Construction will be ordered to pay court costs, and Dean's Construction will incur interest at a rate of 10% per annum.

Based on the foregoing, I expect payment in the amount of $10,000.00 made payable to me Kevin Dobbins-Callahan, 1733 Eldridge Ave, Sacramento CA 95815 no later than February 20, 2014. (I can be contacted by mail at the address below.) If Dean's Construction decides to ignore this demand for payment, I will further pursue all of its legal remedies without further notice to Dean's Construction. This letter serves as evidence that I have attempted to resolve this matter informally.
