I am able to confirm we are sending the gift cards from the initial set up. Dean's has control over that. The billing we will help facilitate a call between customer and DIRECTV. DIRECTV handles all of the billing. Dean's does not have access to any billing information or payment history. However, what we are able to do is help be the go between while on the phone with the customer and DIRECTV. Once customer calls us we can address that situation but until then, there is nothing Dean's Satellite can legally do about the billing without the customer on the phone. We will take care of the gift cards from the initial order as we have control over that.

I had missed a  call from deans on monday and did not have time to call back. will call today. still do not like direct taking payments out of two different accounts. my wife has called them several times to fix this, then this month two more payments out, they then send gift cards to make up difference. just seams like a very bad way to handle payments. this has happened a lot. thanks for any help. dale [redacted]

I am currently working with DIRECTV and the customer on getting the gift card. When the rep punched up the DIRECTV order she missed a number in the address so when DIRECTV sent the gift card it did not get to the customer. I let Dale know when I heard back from DIRECTV I would give him a call. Heard...

back from them late last week and missed giving him a call back. Called him this morning to connect with him and let him know Dean's will pay for the replacement gift card since it was our fault and to give me a call back to verify the address. Left a message and will follow back up with him this afternoon. As far as the billing issues I am un aware of them but when I talk with him I will work it out with him.

Review: We just recently moved into a new home and decided to try Dean's because they promised us better service for a better price. We previously had Vernon telephone and they were great but Dean's said they offered more data. When we vernon telephone we watched unlimited netflix because I was a stay at home mother and we had no problems. When we told Dean's that that's all we wanted the internet for was to stream netflix through our Wii they said that would be no problem. We had our service for about a week and were already out of data after watching approximately three movies on netflix with some internet service. We called them and asked what was going on and they said our data was used up. We told that person how they told us we would have no problems and they blew us off. They told us to try calling someone else and so we did and got transferred back to them. They ended up telling us we could cancel if we paid them a $500 cancellation fee. We had our service for one week and that's all they were willing to do. Not to mention the guy who came to install our satellite told he would not hook it up to our box that we previously had. He wanted us to buy one from them but we told him we wouldn't so he huffed went on with his business. We were treated horribly by him and everyone else we talked to through their company. I understand some people cannot afford or just decide they don't want the service anymore. We just want a new service. I feel that after only one week of having the services we should be able to cancel and go through another company who can give us what we are looking for. I would not suggest their services to anyone.Desired Settlement: We would like our services cancelled without paying the $500 cancellation fee.

Attached please find the recorded call in which our Exede internet was purchased by the consumer. Consumer indicates they do general browsing on two laptops. I do not hear anything about NetFlix usage at all in the sales call. The rep does talk about xbox live gaming using a lot of data. When we ask about how a consumer uses their internet, if they are not honest with their habits, then we cannot predict their usage.

We feel our rep was honest and upfront. We will not waive the cancellation fee.
