Contracted with Jim DeBaggis Painting to paint my rental house in Casselberry, FL, which proved to be a bad idea Jim seemed to be a nice guy and eager to do the job He was to power wash, concrete seal, and paint the cinder block house On the day he sealed the house, I immediately began receiving complaints from the tenant in the house that Jim had sprayed over a portion of the screens and Windows The tenant also said the seal was applied unevenly and the sealant drips were running down the wall They provided pictures and I forwarded to DeBaggis, who immediately called me to say he was quitting because he doesn't like to be "micro-managed" I explained that I was only forwarding since the tenant was expressing concern and I'd like for him to correct as he completes the job Ultimately, he refused to finish the work or refund the deposit I had made stating he had incurred expenses from the power washing and spraying of sealant I pointed out that I was now going to need to hire someone to clean up the mess he was leaving (paint chips in the yard, sealant on screens and sealant on windows) He elected not to respond
