provided to them in detail. My policy has always been to bill when the work is done so any tax advice during the year is billed when the tax return is completed. The [redacted] advised me in February 2016 that they were not going to be using my services for the 2015 tax return preparation so I sent them a billing for the work performed in the previous summer/fall regarding estimated tax payments and health insurance planning. I would doubt that other CPAs provide tax services for free as our time and advice is our business. After being threatened with legal action and slander by the client, I told them to forget about the bill. I won't waste any more time with people who want something for nothing.
