Review: I hired Debra K[redacted] to do my taxes. When I set up appointment, she told me her fee is usually between $150.00 % $275.00 and she would spend about 15 minutes with me. We met, reviewed my tax info and we chatted about different things. When we met again after hours, 5:00PM, for me to sign my taxes, she informed me that I owed her $525.00. Obviously, she saw the shock on my face and proceeded to inform me that the reason it was so high was because our first meeting was a "financial planning session" and that she spent an hour and a half with me. I was NEVER made aware of this or that I would be billed for this, prior to the meeting or at anytime during the meeting. I would never have agreed to this. It was my understanding that we were just having a friendly conversation after reviewing my taxes. Completely stunned, I paid Debra K[redacted]. I felt bullied to do so. I believe her behavior to be unprofessional, dishonest and underhanded. I was led to believe I was receiving one service and was charged for another without disclosure, permission or agreement I was taken advantage of and cannot help but think that this is fraud. My Tax return clearly reads: "TAX RETURN PREPARATION FEE.......$525.00." Nothing about "Financial Planning Session."Desired Settlement: I would like Debra K[redacted] to refund part of this payment to reflect a fair price for a simple, itemized tax return. Especially since she had given me pricing during our initial phone call.
