Review: Our family recently sold items from an estate to [redacted] and she paid us for the items she took. Then she stopped payment on the $750.00 check she had given us. She left me a voice mail after taking the items stating that she felt that not all she had agreed to take were at the house. I was there at the house most of the time when they were boxing up items over a two day period. She voiced nothing to me during that time. I of course called her as soon as I could and she also stated that an item was not in operating condition as she had thought. She had been given time to review all items prior to bidding on the merchandise she was purchasing. She said I could take her to court or accept $500.00 as payment. Our family feels we did not in anyway mislead her as to the condition of the items we were selling and told her so. She knew that we wanted to settle the estate as not everyone lives in the Bedford area. We are not the type of folks to take someone to court so we accepted the $500.00 reluctantly. I now realize that I should have filed a claim immediately as I have learned that you help resolve complaints quickly. Her $750.00 check was dated April 25 and the replacement $500.00 check April 28. I have also been charged $15.00 by my bank since I had deposited the $750.00 check prior to knowing about her issues. Do I have any recourse in this matter? Regardless I feel others should know of her business practices and beware of dealing with her business.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate your letting me know of any recourse we may have. Also it is important to us to let others know of how she does business. She did tell me that if she does find that the item works and she does make a decent profit she would pay us more. That was not how the item/s were sold to her but of course we would appreciate some additional payment. I guess time will tell.
