Review: Just looking for my $100 deposit back... Very Simple....no work was done on my Chapter 7...went another route. They told me to fax over a notice stating I would like my $100 refund back and It has been over a month with no response. Left a message on April 1, 2014 and received no returned call. Review: On 9/16/11 I started the process of filing for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy with the assistance of Attorney [redacted] with Debt Advisor. Under consultation of Attorney [redacted], I gave him a list of all debts and debtors which included Capitol One Auto Finance for a vehicle I own (2006 Mercury) and a vehicle I co-signed for my daughter (2007 Dodge) which I surrendered. My bankruptcy was confirmed on 1/11/2012. I was assigned [redacted] as a Trustee. I was ordered to do a 5-year Chapter 13 plan, which I was attempting complete, but it was dismissed before I could complete it. Fund were taken and paid through the Trustee until 12/2014. I was just told that there is 2 other vehicles that I did not have our own. I trusted Debt Advisors to assist me through this situation. I paid into this according to schedule, and through the trustee. Capitol Once has taken my vehicle and told me that they did to receive any funds and that I still owe them $7,323.00. Where did all of my payments go to and to whom? I have called and called Attorney [redacted] every day since January to ask him what was going on with the Chapter 13. I have paperwork stating that funds ($15,314.00) I paid into this. Capitol One has informed me that they did not receive any payment, and took my vehicle. WE Energies also stated that they were not paid and tacked the entire old bill onto my new bill. IRS has intercepted my taxes and said that they were not paid either. None of my creditors were paid. I would like to know where the money went. I cannot consult with the Trustee without getting in touch with Attorney [redacted], who is not taking my calls or returning messages I have left from him. I need this Attorney to assist me in straightening out what is wrong, as I have paid him for the services. I am so stressed out because Attorney [redacted] and cannot tell me where all of the money I paid went to. I am so disappointed because I trusted Debt Advisors to assist me in a professional manner. Now I am getting the run around and no answers. This is so unfair that I paid my attorney and money into this Chapter 13. Attorney [redacted] will not respond to any of my calls. I strongly believe that I was not properly represented by Debt Advisor. And he has not tried to assist me in sorting this horrible nightmare out. Since this started, I have had anxiety attacks due to the stress. I have all of the documents that were submitted showing how much I have paid into this Chapter 13. I have recently been informed that the debts in my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy have been discharged. Now, I would like to share my experiences with the attorney who helped me through this process, Attorney Michael [redacted] of Debt Advisors in Madison, Wi.
Due to a divorce after 33 years of marriage, I found myself alone, frightened and in debt. My ex husband said he was filing bankruptcy on the debts we had incurred during our marriage. For nine months, I tried to keep up with the debt payments alone, but soon realized that I could not keep doing so on my now limited income. As much as I dreaded it, it was clear to me that I had no choice but to file for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.
My divorce attorney did not handle bankruptcies, but she referred me to an attorney that she knew well. For a variety of reasons, I just did not feel at ease with this attorney.
