Review: I need some help and I hope you can be of assistance.
I bought a golf GPS from golf buddy and now I can not get a replacement battery. One of the reasons for buying this unit is there is no annual fees. What they don’t tell you is in a few years batteries will no longer be available. Now this unit is useless. I contacted the company and they offered me a replacement newer unit for a discounted price of $200. I told them I thought the fair thing is I pay $50 for the replacement unit which is the price of a battery. They said they could not do that. I would not have bought this unit if I would have known it would only be good for a few years. I can purchase a Garmin for under $200 and is as nice if not nicer than the Golf Buddy. I am also sending you a copy of my email that golf buddy sent me with the name and phone number of the gentleman I talked to.
I hope you can help to resolve this problem.

We want to make all our customers happy and I understand that you would ultimately want to pay $50.00 for a battery for your Platinum unit.
I get that.
This battery is not being made anymore and there are none available.
I am offering you the price of $195.00 for the PT4 ( please look at the webpage to view)
This product wholesales at $280.00 and retails at $400.00.
I do not have any other answer from here but to give you this unit at our manufacturing cost. $195.00
The other answer would be to find another world platinum unit on [redacted] or [redacted] for less. I know they are there and I don’t like directing you there, but if you are wanting to stick with the piece you have, that might be all that can be done.
I want you to be happy with us but we don’t have that product available.
Once again,this product is now obsolete.

U.S.A. NaDesired Settlement: I would like my Golf Buddy replaced. I bought it in good faith that it would last for many years. It has worked perfectly and it seems strange that a company would make a product and not have battery's for it after just a few years. It feels like a scam. No yearly fees but they never say it will only be good for just a few years. If they made that known, how many do you think they would have sold. My guess is 0.
