Decatur Place Apartments, formerly Summer Place Apartments showed my husband and I a beautifully staged apartment in 2013. The Management implied that the quality of that staged apartment would be the Quality of the apartment that we would be getting. the Management told us that the area where we were actually moving to was a quiet area and it was not. The Management told us that the apartment was "ready to move in" and it was not. The Management told us that "Everything worked in the apartment" and almost nothing worked in the apartment. The stove had only one top eye that worked, nothing else did. The Management told us that "the dishwasher would be replaced with a working dishwasher" and it never was. The management told us that "the heat was on" in the apartment and the Central unit did not work at all, in fact it was wired incorrectly and it was Feb. with snow on the ground. The Management said "all plugs are working and there are no issues" and their living room /dining room plug blew up a brand new $49.99 heater. They never paid my husband for his repairs that he had to do to the unit so that we could have heat. My husband is a State of Alabama Licensed and Board Certified Contractor/Construction/HVAC/Plumbing and Electrical Contractor. My husband saved their Apartment Complex thousands of dollars by allowing one of their so called "Maintenance Men" use his license to buy new parts at the local wholesale place. We never got a thank you or never got paid for fixing their apartment so that it was up to code and not a fire hazard because I was scared to death almost to stay in the apartment until things were correctly repaired which my husband did because we had so much money into it and could not afford to go stay in a hotel til their "Maintenance personnel" attempted to fix things. Over all they lied to us, they Cheated us and now they have successfully ruined our credit and are trying to decimate our character and slander our good name and it is not fair that a company or organization be allowed to lie, cheat and steal from you and get away with it and slander us in court and in public and to their other tenants and get away with it without their being some way for us to stop them from trying to ruin us.
