We had Deck Doctor replace a deck that had been installed incorrectly years before we bought the property The overall quality of the work was fine However, getting Jesse to come back to stain the deck (included in the $36K price) was nearly impossible We contacted him numerous times over the course of a year He would either be non-responsive or have a reason why the deck could not be stained (some valid/most not) It took threats of legal action to finally get him to stain the deck My biggest recommendation is to not pay him until ALL the agreed upon work is completed Once you pay him, good luck getting him to finish any remaining work!

Hello,
I'm sorry I'm just getting back to this complaint, I have been on vacation in Colorado since the 9th of August. Please excuse my short response, I have to type this message on my phone. A power surge went through our house while we were away and fried my home...

computer.
As [redacted] stated, a man named Jarrad contacted her but he was no longer affiliated with [redacted] Deck Doctor when he did so... He actually only worked for me for a few days. In that short of time he had lied and stolen a few things so I had to terminate him. One day we were in my office going through email lead requests that had come in on the computer. I explained to him that we would not be returning calls to customers in DC. There are a few other areas in Northern Virginia that I do not service besides DC... I explained that I do not wish to drive into DC and I am not licensed in the District to work.
Within the next couple days Jarrad was let go... A few weeks later I received an email from [redacted] explaining what had happened to her. I explained to her that he had committed fraud and used my name and stolen contract to schedule work. I told [redacted] that I do not work in DC and that he did not have the authority to sign a contract in my name. I am the Registered Agent and Qualified Individual for [redacted] Deck Doctor. No one has or ever had the authority to sign a [redacted] Deck Doctor contract but me. I did not authorize the work and I surely didn't give permission to borrow or use my contract.
I advised [redacted] that she should contact the authorities and file a police report. I cannot believe that she wants me to pay $400 for something that I had nothing to do with? In fact, I was told that she wanted $200 back from Jarrad, not $400. So I feel like I'm being scammed by Jarrad and [redacted]... I have been in touch with the authorities regarding this matter, I would advise [redacted] do the same!

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Mr. E[redacted] and I never discussed an amount of a refund and he never told me to contact the police.  He said he would contact the police and asked was it okay to give them my information to contact me.  I responded yes.  Jarred text me on August 17, 2014 and said “I will deposit your money Tuesday after work I just got back in town.”  He then called me the next day. Due to a meeting, I missed the called.  I returned his call and Jarred said did Jesse call you.  I responded no.  He said if I pay you $200 can this all go away.  I said, Jarred I want my money.  He said okay I will send it to you.
Mr. E[redacted] acknowledges that Jarred received my information from his website.  He told Jarred that he does not want to drive to DC and he is not licensed to work in the District.  He also stated that he is the only person who has authority to sign a [redacted] Deck Doctor contract.  This was not on his website and I was never notified of this before the work was done.  As a result, Jarred contacted me as an agent of [redacted] Deck Doctor, signed a [redacted] Deck Doctor contract, and damaged my deck.  Mr. E[redacted] had a legal obligation to notify customers and potential customers that Jarred was no longer an agent of the company.  His failure to do so resulted in him being responsible for the damages to my deck.
The facts of this matter, I contacted [redacted] Deck Doctor to repair, power wash, and stain my deck.  An agent of the company came out and gave me a [redacted] Deck Doctor estimate.  My deck was damaged and now I feel I’m being jerked around by the company.  Jesse E[redacted] is responsible for my damaged deck because Jarred, an agent of the company, received my information from his system and Mr. E[redacted] never notified me that Jarred was no longer an agent of [redacted] Deck Doctor.
Regards,
[redacted]
