Good day, My name is [redacted]. We have resolved our business with contractor [redacted], he came through yesterday to complete our deck. Thanks in advance.

Review: [redacted] and I decided on a particular stain color that would match the rest of my deck wood (using a color chart). He applied the wrong color to the deck spindles. When I asked him what color he used, he gave me the name of it, which was different than what we agreed on, and admitted he had bought the wrong one. Also, he sanded the deck floor, applied a solid stain, but within a week some areas were already pealing up. I'm anticipating that after the winter weather, the deck floor will be a mess in the spring, since it is already pealing in some areas. He agreed to come and repaint the wood that he had painted incorrectly, but wasn't able to come on the agreed day because of rainfall. I left several messages with him after that, but he never returned my calls.Desired Settlement: I would like him to either 1) re-sand the deck and reapply the stain now, or 2) wait to see what condition the deck floor will be in the spring, and re-sand at that time if it is needed. I would also like him to purchase the correct Benjamin Moore semi-solid stain called "beaujolais" - the color we agreed on - and reapply it to all four sides of the lower-deck spindles, also on the top plank that runs along the upper and lower decks.

I will come and reapply Benjamin Moore semi solid stain Beaujolais on all the lower deck spindles and the top railings.If there is any peeling on the deck floor I will fix that also.please give me a call and let me know if you want it done now or in the spring.Sorry for any inconvenience .

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory as long as the Deck Doctor follows through and does the work in the spring of 2014. I will be contacting him and arranging for the work to be done at that time because I believe it's too cold to apply the stain now.
