Revdex.com: I contest the account given by Mr [redacted] concerning this project, for the following reasons: 1-The fact that he offered a "Hotel" room at his expense is due to the fact that upon my return from out of town, the project was not complete, as promised and I could not access my property due to the resin still being uncuredI was not notified prior to my return, I had to initiate a call to Mr [redacted] to find out that the property was not to be enteredIt was at that point that I asked, what was I supposed stay, it was then that he offered his private accommodations 2- I AM NOT CONTESTING the fact that Mr [redacted] did inform me that some imperfections would bleed through the new surface and I was willing to accept that 3-My issue is that the new surface installed by Deck masters is soft, easily damaged and is very porous, this was never the case with the original coating 4- Mr [redacted] had assured me that he confirmed with the manufacturer of this product that the surface would be hard, durable and would withstand patio useThe fact that I have Patio furniture which damages the newly applied surface, as Mr [redacted] suggests is not a valid point, due to the fact that I have always had this furniture on the patio and never experience this issue 5- Mr [redacted] has assured me that he would contact the manufacturer concerning what additional coating could be applied in order to remedy this problemTo Date, Mr [redacted] has not given me any feedback 6- Please see the attached photos, which clearly show all of the imperfections, that were NOT due to the original base, these have surfaced since Deck Masters had applied the new surfaceIn addition, the aggregate that is part of the costing is not distributed evenly on the surface, causing a very unattractive appearance Overall, I am very disappointed with the end result of this project, as Mr [redacted] should be as wellIt does not represent a quality job, as I was expecting from Deck Masters, as they were advertised and endorsed by the Revdex.com 7- I personally feel that if Mr [redacted] would get a factory representative to give an opinion if in fact the new surface was applied properly, and is there any remedy to improve the current situation

We at DeckMASTERSllc completed the project in May of There has been over year of use and foot traffic on the patio surface .since we installed the final layer of coating All the pictures that *** *** has submitted clearly show stains from weathering and use which should be cleaned by *** *** not for free by our company .Picture # shows a leg of a table being pulled up off coating to cause the problem shown in the picture We have fulfilled our contractual agreement ,additional cleaning or more layers of coating can be completed for a additional fee .I will contact the manufactures rep tp inspect the patio & get his recommendation for cleaning products .,and possible specifications for cleaning Thank you hard steal leg patio furniture will damage any coating

*** *** contacted our company on March 7, for an estimate to waterproof her concrete deck entranceway. She was worried about leaks occurring when she left for her main residence in the summer in Wisconsin.
On March 17, she signed a work order for us
to apply Polydeck coatings to the concrete entranceway to waterproof her balcony and guarantee against any leaks affecting her neighbor below
A copy of the above referenced work order is attached. Due to the age of her building and type of construction used in the 1960’s, we explained that the concrete imperfections would likely fade through the new coating and included an explanation of this in item #of our work order.
We installed the waterproof coating per the manufacturer’s specifications and also provided a hotel room for her use (at our cost!) so that the coating out cure properly before she reentered her home
After *** left for her summer home in Wisconsin in May of 2013, we installed an additional layer of coating to mitigate the old concrete imperfections telegraphing through the top layer of coating. This was done free of charge to attempt to address her concerns. However, the client has an abundance of patio furniture and miscellaneous items on top of the coated balcony which when moved can possibly scrap and scar the new product
Her complaint is not valid She says it just doesn’t look right We clarified before beginning the waterproofing project that we could not guarantee a cosmetic cure to her old concrete imperfections. Her calls have always been returned promptly by my staff and myself. Her request for more coatings at our cost is declined This waterproofing project has been performed per the work order and she has no leaksAll specifications of the agreed upon work order have been fulfilled. This is an invalid complaint.
Thank you,

I hired Deck Masters to do a complete roofing job on my home in May 2013. Come to find out a couple of years later, they did not use galvanized nails on the main deck or the perimeter of the roof and the nails rusted. I called Deck Masters because I have a 12 year warranty against defects in workmanship. Deck Masters came out and only replaced the nails around the perimeter, not on the main deck; I was ok with that at the time because I was protected by my warranty for any future problems that might result from the nail issue.
I recently had a fire on the side yard from a propane tank that caught fire that affected the side of the house and roof. I called Deck Masters because my warranty states that if another company comes out and does repairs, my warranty would no longer be valid. I was contacted back by John M[redacted], the owner. I requested that he come out to as the damage and provide a quote for my ins. company. He asked me to send him pictures of the damage and sent back a paragraph ( not a quote) of $2052.00 to repair the damage but did not provide a repair breakdown. Mr. M[redacted] proceeded to tell me that he has 47 years of roofing experience and felt the pictures I sent him and the access he has to my file were sufficient to quote out the damage. I Replied back to him with an email requesting that he or a qualified employee of Deck Masters come out to look at the damage in person because he concurred that the felt underneath the tile had melted and tar leached onto the metal facia. He wrote back and said that this is a job for a Carpenter and that he was giving his permission to have the area repaired WITHOUT disturbing the tiles, bird stop or metal facia. How can anyone do a decent repair and check the melted felt without lifting the tiles and inspecting the area for water, fire or any other type of damage that the fire caused? Then he proceeded to tell me that the warranty would still be intact if I paid him $125.00 inspection fee after the work was completed. I feel that this is horrible customer service being that I spent $10,584.00 on a new roof 3 years ago. I wrote back to him and said that I hope we can get this resolved without involving legal counsel. He responded by saying that it was my negligence that caused the fire and then refused to work with me at all! I would like to share this experience with anyone who is thinking about hiring this company to please think twice as you will not have support/backing on any issues that arise in the future, warranty or not.

I contest the account given by Mr. [redacted] concerning this project, for the following reasons:

I was not notified prior to my return, I had to initiate a call to Mr. [redacted] to find out that the property was not to be entered. It was at that point that I asked, what was I supposed stay, it was then that he offered his private accommodations.
2- I AM NOT CONTESTING the fact that Mr. [redacted] did inform me that some imperfections would bleed through the new surface and I was willing to accept that.
3-My issue is that the new surface installed by Deck masters is soft, easily damaged and is very porous, this was never the case with the original coating.
4- Mr [redacted] had assured me that he confirmed with the manufacturer of this product that the surface would be hard, durable and would withstand normal patio use. The fact that I have Patio furniture which damages the newly applied surface, as Mr. [redacted] suggests is not a valid point, due to the fact that I have always had this furniture on the patio and never experience this issue.
5- Mr. [redacted] has assured me that he would contact the manufacturer concerning what additional coating could be applied in order to remedy this problem. To Date, Mr. [redacted] has not given me any feedback.
6- Please see the attached photos, which clearly show all of the imperfections, that were NOT due to the original base, these have surfaced since Deck Masters had applied the new surface. In addition, the aggregate that is part of the costing is not distributed evenly on the surface, causing a very unattractive appearance.
Overall, I am very disappointed with the end result of this project, as Mr. [redacted] should be as well. It does not represent a quality job, as I was expecting from Deck Masters, as they were advertised and endorsed by the Revdex.com.
7- I personally feel that if Mr. [redacted] would get a factory representative to give an opinion if in fact the new surface was applied properly, and is there any remedy to improve the current situation.

Review: I signed a contract in the spring of 2013 to have my small cement deck resurfaced. I was given a quote for $2,250 which was a $1000 more than I paid previously for the same deck repair I had done on my other property, however I was assured it would be an excellent job. I was told at the time and it was written into the contract that some defects may continue to show through after the job was completed. I accepted that, as it was old cement. I was also told, however that the surface would be extremely strong comparable to the quality found on hotels decks. This is not the case. The surface is very soft and sticky and any kind of stain is quickly absorbed onto it. As I said before, I accepted the fact that old defects might show through, but these are all new ones! The deck looks worse now than before anything was done to it. Right after the work was completed I asked the owner of the company to come back and examine the job. He would only send an employee. I was not happy with the inconsistency of the color of the deck, as well as, the inconsistent aggregate coverage. I asked the owner to come over again and look at the problem. When he came and looked at the job, he suggested buying a rug to put over it the deck to hide all the problems!! I asked him to please call the company and see what kind of paint could be used to cover the deck in an effort to make it look nicer. I still haven't received an answer. During one of our conversations he said he would never do another job like this again as it has been a nightmare. To me that says he knows it is not right and doesn't know what to do about it. It has been a nightmare for me also, one that has been going on for over a year. I have called him several times and received no answer.Desired Settlement: I feel this company may be very good at roofing and repairing new decks but they didn't know how to fix my problem. I hired them in good faith and expected them to work the same way. If they didn't know what to do they shouldn't have accepted the job. I want a rep from the company that produced the products used on my deck to come out and examine the deck. If it can be fixed properly, great...if not I want a refund.

Regards,

I reject Mr [redacted] (Deck Masters) response and qualified offer. As regards Ms Harris's request I send photos, I am unable to take photos.. FYI, Mr [redacted] took photos of the work and they are not effective in showing thecondition of the roof.Briefly-- Deck Masters (ether Mr [redacted] or his employee) pointed out to me the condition of my deck( cracksand bubbles).. I then requested an estimate to repair my deck from Mr [redacted].. andclearly understood thework estimate was prmarily to correct the cracks and bubbles (the problem that they pointed out to me!!!).They rmoved some of the bubbles by cutting them out-- but most they did not cut out-- my belief is thiswas an oversight and I also want to point out Mr [redacted] never personally inspected the deck before he gaveme the estimate.Mr [redacted] response----1. Paragraph # 1--- is false--- Deck Masters contacted me first and in fact informed me of the condition ofmy roof (crcks and bubbles).2. 2nd paragraph-- false-- Mr [redacted] never explained to me at any time about an eight (8) layer systemsand it is false for him to say he excplane it to m and I rejected it. A so-calledeight layer system was NEVERat any time discussed with me!!!3. Mr [redacted] provided me an "estimate/proposal" but never personally walked on my deck nor inspected itbefore he providd me the estimate. I trusted him to do as I requested--- repair the cracks and bubbles andthat was my understanding what work was to be done.4. Mr [redacted] says "we need pictures and locations of where this is occuring" Why is this necessary whenhe came out briefly and pointed out the bubbles and cracks --- I explained he need to come out after 3 PMwhen it is shady on the deck and he refused!!5. Mr [redacted] (6th parg) says he will recify the problm providing I comply with three provisions--- No problem,I accept his offer--- however, I will agree to any additional charges.Bottomline, I would like my deck repaired properly with no additional cost to me or a refund of the $1,695I have paid Deck Masters. I am available and open to have Mr [redacted] come out again (afer 3 PM) andI believe I can clearly illustrate my concerns . I paid Deck Mastes to repair/remove the cracks and bubbleson my deck but they still exist!!!Sincerely/Respectfylly-- [redacted]
