Decker Concrete

I am so very pleased with the work that this company did for me Much better than I was expecting The workmen were very courteous and professional I would recommend them to anyone that needed concrete work done

On March 24, we signed an agreement for Decker Concrete to install a stamped patio with a couple of paver sitting walls Per Pam A***, the president of this company, a mid-May install was scheduled, with a 40% down payment at the time the contract was signed We thought the 40% deposit was high but decided a mid-May install schedule was OK
We did not hear from her regarding the install schedule through most of May so I called her She said the usual excuses about rain days delaying and told us we were 11th on the install list I questioned how she could miss the schedule that much, especially since they've been in business for 30+ years, and therefore should have a reasonable idea about Spring weather/rain delays She said it happens, so I checked the last two years of the National Weather Service and found precipitation by # of days wasn't out-of-line with the previous two Springs
When I suggested she likely, and intentionally, overbooked her production capacity that would undoubtedly delay her promised mid-May install date (they display at the Indy Home Show), she didn't directly respond other than to say she's an honest person who operates a small business
The install finally occurred the first week of July Once her husband, who I believe is a reputable, working owner, began the install he mentioned Decker Concrete was simultaneously doing a partial driveway re-pour less than yards away from our home
I could not help but think that perhaps my mid-May project was delayed so that Decker Concrete could make it easier for them to move the concrete crews between the two jobs for the 2-days it took to complete the concrete install
I thought about approaching Pam A*** with this question but decided she wouldn't be any more honest than when she used the too many rain days excuse for missing our schedule by over weeks (after the initial week initial timeframe for the original schedule install of mid-May)! (I don't believe he thought that I might make this connection because he seems like an honest, sincere guy who personally worked hard on our project, including personally finishing the paver walls on a Saturday)
I'm a Realtor with 100's of clients, many of whom request recommendations for vendor/contractor work In addition I regularly interact with dozens and dozens of other north side Realtors who share stories and positive/negative comments about vendors/contractors
Do you think I should ignore this contractor problem that personally, in my opinion, obfuscated and deceptively arranged an install schedule that initially likely was due to dramatically exceeding production capacity, and then arranging and likely manipulating the install schedule to coincide with the job less than 1/mile away?
