My name is Crystal R*** I am the owner of the deckmasters franshise My company did a deck for Mr and Mrs *** in I have went above and beyond the warnty for this customer. Understand the waranty is for workmanship not material. In the past I have
replaced his 6"x6" post which were twisting and had check crack lines not my fault the wood twisted or cracked but, I replaced them any wayMy corprate owner said I should not.But iI did this to keep peace and my company name in good standings. The post have started to do it again. Now he exspects me to replace them again. Then he had a complaint about the floor bowing upWhen we checked it out there was a joist that had crowned up which means it bowed again not warentied but we tried to fix it for themThe decking is toung and groove so we could not take it out so we cut it to allow it to drop down taking the preasure off the decking and added a joist beside it at the crorect heighthe would not allow us to put screws in it for fear of seeing them so we just left it to settle. Now he is saying the deck is out of codeAt the time it was built it was up to codeSince then the codes have changed a lot but I am not responsable to bring it up to code now. I am sorry the customer feels this way but there is nothing I can do. Thank you Crystal R***
Review: We had a deck put on in the summer of 2010 by DeckMasters Pittsburgh East. The deck was never installed properly. The deck floor has been bowed since it was installed. DeckMasters has returned on several occasions over the years to attempt to repair the deck, but the issue has never been resolved. This is our second time filing a complaint with the Revdex.com, as it seems to be the only way for us to get a response from DeckMasters. Additionally, it has come to our attention that the railing posts do not even meet code. The main deck posts are also twisting. DeckMasters issued us a lifetime deck workmanship warranty in 2010 after completion of the deck and have failed to honor it.Desired Settlement: At this point we have lost all confidence in DeckMasters to be able to build or repair a deck. We would like a refund of our original purchase price in order to hire another contractor to tear off and rebuild a new deck.
