Decorating Den Interiors

It did not work out for me.
I engaged Decorating Den Oshawa when I moved to my new house. The designers/owners came twice to present their design. Unfortunately both were disappointing. All I see is expensive furniture in their plans.
I am not sure if they are inexperienced or not well trained to do the job. They are totally different from what I expected. I paid upfront $1,500 to start and it is down the drain. I will never recommend Decorating Den. You do not see much of their customer reviews online, and I am quite curious why.

Decorating Den. My experience was a disaster. I entered a verbal agreement with an agent in Tampa FL to recover a piece of furniture. She required full payment for the work. I do not pay in full for any service. Then I was made aware the decorator get a 50% profit make up on each sale. Then requires 50% down payment. Total profit without spending a nickel. This is very risky business. Buyer Beware..

Review: On December 14, 2013, my wife [redacted] and myself purchased 2 Side Panels (1/2 inches from the floor industry standard), 8 Roman Shades, Hardware, and Installation from [redacted], Decorating Den Interiors Owner with a specified completion time of one week or prior to Christmas, December 25, 2013. [redacted] and a colleague [redacted] came to our home in September, 2013, and measured our living room, dining room, and office windows for draperies. My wife and I were not involved in measuring or providing measurements as we hired [redacted] for this purpose. [redacted] went in to [redacted] in [redacted], Va and provided the fabric/trim amounts. After receiving the fabric/trim the manufacturer [redacted] notified [redacted] that the fabric amount was short 7 1/2 yards. A shortage of fabric is one of many problems we've incurred. Due to several weather delays, on January 17, 2014, the draperies arrived. The 8 Roman Shades did not have the requested trim and were sent back to Horizons in Waukegan, IL by [redacted]. The 2 Side Panels were not the requested 1/2 inch from the floor industry standard. They are 10 inches from the floor! The same day [redacted] received a text from [redacted] that specified in writing that there will be a one week completion time to add the trim and that she would be on vacation until February 3, 2014, and would contact us then. She did not make contact with us as agreed. On February 12, 2014, we reversed the $3700 charge and contacted the National Headquarters in MD where we were told by [redacted] that "Decorating Den stands behind franchise owners." Twice we were asked not to call back. Numerous conversations have taken place and [redacted] refuses to remake the draperies. Decorating Den continues to stand behind the franchise owner. We still have not received the draperies which she claims she received on February 21, 2014. We refused to sign for the [redacted] shipment because [redacted] stated that once we receive the shades she has fulfilled her obligation to us.

We are asking for the draperies to be remade from the vendor of our choice (not to exceed the amount originally agreed to) at their expense.
