The business did not take the action necessary to resolve this complaint. On 02/24/16, my car would not start (again). I contacted Dave from Deepa and asked him to replace the battery under warranty. He said He needed to charge the battery and test it to see if it passed or failed. He asked me to tow the car in, but I refused. He agreed to have someone from his shop come and jump start the car and take it in. He called a few hours later and said he had charged the battery and tested it and it had passed. He said it was a problem with my car's electrical system. I told him I was taking it to the dealership. He dropped the car off and I took it to the dealership. They said because the battery had been charged they would not get an accurate reading and asked me to leave it over night. The next morning they called and said they had tested the battery and it had failed. I had no faith the Dave with Deepa would address the issue and asked the dealership to replace the battery. I was told it would cost $325. I spoke with my husband who called Dave and asked for our money back. Dave refused. We asked Dave to fax us copies of the invoice and warranty. We did not receive them. Later, the dealership called and said Dave had contacted them and faxed them the invoice and warranty. The dealership said they were going to honor the warranty on the battery but would still charge us labor. This deducted $200 from the bill. However, we still had to pay them $125 labor to install the battery. At this point, the only thing Dave with Deepa could do to resolve this complaint would be to refund the $15 we paid the dealership due to his refusal to honor the warranty and replace the faulty battery.

Review: On 08/14/14 my Prius would not start. I called [redacted], the tech came out and ran a diagnostic, and advised that the small battery had died. I was given a jump start and told to drive straight to the dealership. I went to Deepa Auto Repair on Green Street because it was closer to me. I waited several hours at the shop and was charged $298.17 for the installation of a new battery. On 02/13/15, my Prius again would not start. I called [redacted] and the tech came out, ran a diagnostic and told me that the small battery was dead. I told him that was impossible for the battery to be dead, because I had had a new battery installed in August. The tech asked if the battery was installed at the dealership. I told him that it was not installed at the dealership, but at Deepa Auto Repair. The tech showed me that the battery in my car was a Toyota OEM battery and explained that a Toyota OEM battery would have only been installed at the dealership. He then called Deepa and asked what brand of batteries they sell and was told they only sell two brands - AC Delco and Diehard batteries. They do not sell Toyota OEM brand batteries. Therefore, Deepa Auto Repair cannot have installed a new battery in my vehicle. The tech said the most likely scenario was that Deepa Auto Repair had simply recharged the battery and charged me for installing a new battery. In short, they committed fraud. I am filing this complaint with the Revdex.com to request a refund of the $298.17 I paid Deepa Auto Repair for products/services I paid for, but did not receive.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome for filing this report is twofold. First, I want this complaint to go on record so that potential future customers at Deepa Auto Repaid can be made aware of their fraudulent practices. Second, I would like the $298.17 I paid Deepa Auto Repair for products/services I did not receive to be refunded to me in full. I appreciate your assistance in this matter. Thank you.
