October 13, Revdex.com of Central Indiana NDelaware St#Indianapolis, IN 46204- Defenders Incdba Protect Your Home DBA Protect Your Home Priority Way South Drive Indianapolis, IN Re: [redacted] Complaint No [redacted] Account No [redacted] Dear Ms [redacted] , This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] by [redacted] ***By way of background, Defenders, Incdba Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADTIn summary, Ms [redacted] states that she was under the impression, to relocate the system, that Protect Your Home would come and move it at no chargeShe had to provide her credit information and paid a $installation fee in order to set up a new installation to avoid termination charges on the original contractShe confirmed with the sales agent that when relocating the service, it would just be a continuation of the contractShe was told otherwise at the installation and therefore cancelled the movers account and would like to have her original contract waived and installation fee refundedMs [redacted] did enter a contract with Protect Your Home on November 23, She contacted Protect Your Home on September 19, to relocate her services and did pay $for the installation feeProtect Your Home does allow the equipment to be removed at the previous location at no costIt is only the installation fee that the customer is required to pay to relocate the systemThis installation fee is never freeOur customer sometimes mistake the free service to remove the system with the installation fee for the new accountI went back and listed to the sales call September 19, and the sales agent did tell her that this would be a continuation of the contractThis information was incorrectA new contract is required at every installationWe do not allow a continuation of any contract once the services are no longer at the original listed addressDue to the misinformation, I am willing to release Ms [redacted] from her original contract without penaltyI have made numerous attempts to reach Ms [redacted] at each number provided and have not yet made any contactI will not be able to honor this release from contract until I speak with her on the phoneI will need to warm transfer her to ADT to verbally verify her password to cancelOnce ADT has placed the cancellation, I can request that the balance be waivedThere is a deadline to this, she will need to contact me to cancel by March 3, ADT will own the contract after that date and may not honor the full release from contractIn regards to her refund, $was paid back to her on October 11, I apologize if she was inconvenienced during this process, but I appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns and help come to a resolution Sincerely, Crystal F [redacted] Customer Loyalty Representative Protect Your Home ADT Authorized Premier Provider E: [email protected]

September 28, Revdex.com of Central Indiana NDelaware St#Indianapolis, IN 46204- Defenders Incdba Protect Your Home DBA Protect Your Home Priority Way South Drive Indianapolis, IN Re: [redacted] Complaint No [redacted] AcctNo [redacted] Dear Ms [redacted] , This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] by [redacted] By way of background, Defenders, Inc dba Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADTIn summary, Ms [redacted] has had a couple ADT corporate technicians recently come out to her home advising that the original equipment in her home could have been used for monitoring versus having a new system installedShe claims that she has been in contact with Protect Your Home about misrepresentation but has not had any resolution since JanuaryMs [redacted] contacted Protect Your Home on January 5, based on a promotion she received in the mail from ADT Authorized Premier Provider Protect Your HomeShe secured her installation by paying a $installation fee and scheduled it for April 20, At the installation, she agreed to upgrade her services and agreed to pay $over four Flex PaymentsProtect Your Home uses a manufacturer known as DSCIt is not compatible with all alarm systemsThe technician found that her system was not compatible and therefore offered to upgrade her systemMs [redacted] agreed to thisADT uses a different manufacturer than Protect Your Home, so it is possible ADT is stating these things because they are now servicing her alarmMs [redacted] did not bring up the issue of misrepresentation until here recentlyThe main concerns she had brought to my attention in on April 6, was that she wanted to remove the Pulse Tier from her alarm systemShe was technically outside the day downgrade window, but I approved it and scheduled her for April 20, She contacted me again on April 13, about a permit feeAs a courtesy, I added $in Visa gift cards to cover the costShe contacted me then again on April 15, wanting to cancel and have the balance of contract invoice mailed to herShe claimed that our collections team threatened herThere was no threat, they were simply trying to collect on a past due balanceI mailed her the invoice of what she would owe and how to cancel the accountShe called me back on April 28, to pay the balance to cancelWhile I was attempting to transfer her, she disconnectedThat was the last we had heard from her until September 26, when she discovered ADT could have taken over her system although Protect Your Home could notShe was requesting to cancel and go with ADTDue to the contract she signed with Protect Your Home, this was deniedShe was contacted on September 28, in regards to these concerns advising that this does not qualify her to be released without penaltyShe was advised that she would be responsible for the termination charges on her contractAs a courtesy, she was offered a lower cancellation charge of 50% versus 75% of her contract balanceShe did not accept this offer, but it is the only one Protect You Home will offer herI apologize if this has inconvenienced her throughout this process, but I appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns and help come to a resolution Sincerely, Crystal F [redacted] Customer Loyalty Representative Protect Your Home ADT Authorized Premier Provider E: [email protected]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The reason I am not satisfied with their response: the installer signed me up for home automation and this was the only reason why I accepted the home security system with them because I was told they offer the product, and to add insult to injury I was charge extra for the home automation which they not offer So when I call on July 4th, and the representative advised that they do not offer the product I was very disappointed, I felt conned into purchasing the security systemThe installer new the only reason I signed up for the security system was for the home automationI choose to cancel my account because they were dishonest from the very beginning, and the representatives were not very friendly when I calledProtect your home need to be honest with the customers I was very happy for my account being refunded Regards, [redacted] ***
