DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT In summary, the consumer states we misrepresented ourselves as ADTAlso, the consumer does not like the four hour window time period for our service appointments The initial installation was rescheduledThe appointment was rescheduled because the technician’s schedule was overbooked for that day Ms*** scheduled an appointment on June 23, for the technician to perform a system downgradeDuring that appointment the customer learned that the main keypad would need to be removedMs*** declined to have this removedAfterwards, she was advised that the monitoring rate will remain at $before he left her home On August 4, 2017, the consumer called into Defenders informing us that her billing was still incorrectWe scheduled another service appointment for August 8, On August 10, the consumer advised that she did not want the keypad removedOur technician informed her that monthly monitoring will continue at $ Also, the contract states that the Dealer performs warranty services only during business hours. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***What the company said was mostly true but they left out a few key things from my point of viewFirst of all I want to make it clear that we did come to a mutual agreement on what was a proper compensation for the issueSecond, I brought the matter up to the company with in the three day window of the cancellation time frame that I wanted to return some equipmentBut, they were not able to pick up the equipment with in the three day windowI did make the request within the three day window thoughWhen I contacted the Company I made sure that I understood what I was getting back (this is the money back or the cash return for the equipment), and also that my flex payments were adjusted to what they could offer meI was told originally that I was getting a specific amount back within the the original days of installationAfter all the equipment was returned I called them to make sure that I was getting a refund that I was toldThey informed me that they can not refund me the original amount that I was told and that the agent could not give me that refundI have no clue what agents are allowed to do and what they can and can not doSo I was told that I would not get the amount back that I was promisedI asked them "So your employees can promise customers stuff and then you do not have to stand by that?"They told me a bunch of times that they could not give me what I was promised and at this point I was thinking about canceling my contract with themI told them this and they said that if I choose to do that then I would have to pay 75% of my remaining contractI asked them if I still had to pay that even though the original request for the same issue was made within the three day cancellation window and they told me yesAt this point I was pretty irritated so I called the ADT Headquarters and talked to them about the issueThey said there wasnt much they can do because the first year I have to deal with Protect your Home, but they had it in their system what was going onI consulted someone for help and advise on the issueAfter that I contacted the company again and asked them for the voice recordings of the conversation between me and the agent who promised me the original refundThey told me that I had to get a subpoena for that(I asked them a few times to get the recordings and they told me on many occasions that only specific managers have the ability to review or access the recordings)This was really shocking to meThey then asked me if I wanted to make an investigation complaint and they would review the caseI choose to do that complaint After I made the investigation request it took them a few hours to get back to me and that is when they made me an offer to stay with themI took the offer and am still with the company as of today.

After ADT came back to my home to remove the hardware, it was discovered the original rep stole my previous alarm sensorsThey left their sensors in attempt to restore me, however it was determined these sensors are not 2gig compatibleAs such, I am unable to use them as I would have been able to use my previous sensorsI left a message for Birdy regarding the issue and the need for the return of my stolen property but have not heard back.Additionally, they have still refused to refund the funds taken from my accountIt has been weeks since I requested the refunds that are due to meADT has stolen property and money from meWithout being restored financially, this issue cannot be resolvedI was completely victimized by ADT and expect swift correction as I have been too patient considering the laws that have been violated

On a recorded phone call with the customer service representative I originally spoke with, I was promised that my used equipment credit would be reimbursed with a $visa gift card. That said, in addition to the hours of rebuttal on the phone wondering why I had to wait for one of thier representatives to return equipment that I never got to get my refund, and the extra time the charges were still on my credit card charging me interest, now it appears the customer service representative lied to me about compensation in the form of a gift card. Surely, I did get money credited to my credit card, I did not recieve the promised unused equipment credit as my home was already wired for ADT before the technician arrived
