Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2015/09/29) */ DeGeus Tile & Granite did in fact fabricate soapstone sinks along with the soapstone countertops for [redacted] ***She indicated soon after installation that their was a small leak in the sinkI, being the owner of DeGeus Tile & Granite, sent my installation crew out to the [redacted] residence to address the issueThey determined that the inside seams of the sinks needed additional epoxy to ensure a consistent seal for waterThe ***'s didn't want us to apply any additional epoxy as they were concerned about the visual aspect of adding the epoxyMake note the epoxy we would add would be the same epoxy used to glue the sink panels togetherUpon this, the ***'s asked for a discount and said they would take care of the sink issue themselvesI conversed with the customer on the phone and told them that I would prefer to take care of the sink issue as apposed to just giving them a discountIf there was an issue with any aspect of our work, I prefer to correct it ourselvesThe ***'s insisted that they wanted to take care of it themselves and wouldn't let us make any further attempt to rectify the problemPer discussion on the phone with ***, we reached an agreeable amount of discount for them to take care of the sink issueI again discouraged them from taking the discount option and to let us deal with the sinks but they opted to take the discount and pay the balance in full assuming responsibility for the sink issueI feel bad about this situation and would have liked to have the option to make it right with the ***'s by taking care of the sink issue ourselvesWe are a family owned and operated business that takes great pride in workmanshipwe provide great service and top quality materials at an affordable priceWe are a reputation based business in Rochester Mn establishing ourselves as a "preferred" shop for granite, quartz and other natural stone countertops along with porcelain and ceramic tile installations second to noneI am not a close minded business owner and will meet with the ***'s to further discuss this issue in more detailSincerely, Mike [redacted] (Owner)
