Del Mar Montessori

Review: We enrolled our two daughters in Del Mar Montessori School on August 25th, 2014. We were asked to pre-pay a $1,000 annual per child school supplies fee for the 2014-2015 school year, and to pre-pay (in full) the school's tuition for September 2014 and July 2015 for each child. The total of all of the prepayments made on August 25th was $4,850.

During our first week of school, we were dissatisfied with the teacher and the school atmosphere and we decided to withdraw our two daughters on August 29th, 2014 (after one week at the school).

We asked for a refund of our money, minus the fees owed for one week of school for each child. Del Mar Montessori School has refused to refund any money to us.

It makes no sense that Del Mar Montessori School thinks that it's fair or reasonable to have a family pay $4,850 to send two children to school for just one week.Desired Settlement: We are seeking a refund of money, minus the money owed for one week of school for each child. We estimate the amount of refund owed to be $4,350.

The contract for the school year, August 25, 2014 through July 24, 2015, was signed by Mrs. [redacted]. The contract states clearly that you are responsible for the school year
