This customer lives on a highly traveled road that is heavily salted during the winter monthsAfter my inspection in early May and another one just recently, my professional opinion for the premature wearing is a result of the salt/chemicals from the busy road way being tracked up the drive every time it was usedThe upper protion of the driveway has faired much better and I believe this is because the excess residue from the salt and chemicals applied at the road were much more likely to be at the bottom of the drive near the street and not at the topThis past winter was unusual in the fact that is was so cold hence it was neccessary to apply alot of salt/chemicals to the roads and else whereOur policy is to inspect and determine if in fact there is a warranty issue and then it is at our sole discretion as to when (weather, time of year etc) a recoat would need to be applied Having done about driveways last year and being in business for years, we value our customers as well as their continued patronage, however sometimes there are extenuating circumstances such as in this case. The warranty clearly states that if salt etcor unusually harsh winters occur, the sealant may not last year We use only premium grade sealing products I am willing to have my sales representative call this customer to educate her on the sealant and the different scenarios that may occur resulting in premature wearing. We will offer to recoat the driveway for just the cost of the material used which would be $ This is the only desired outcome we can offer However, in her complaint she does not want our services continued I feel this is extremely generous in light of the entire scenario.Sincerley,Frank C [redacted] Owner
