Del Sol Medical Center Reviews (1)

If you need emergency treatment, don't go to the Del Sol Emergency Section for treatment. In the middle of March of 2016, I was suffering from severe gastrointestinal problem. I went to the "Emergency" wing of the hospital (located on Gateway West between Yarborough and McCrae) in a great degree of pain and discomfort. I suffer from GERD, acute gastritis, duodenitis, constipation, Barrett's esophagus and other issues for which I have been seeing a gastrointestinal specialist since last year.
I got to the "emergency floor" at 10:30 PM. By 1:30 AM I had not been attended to by anyone. When I went outside my room, all I could hear was loud laughter from someone down the hall who I assumed was having a great time. At around 2:00 AM, I peaked out of the room and saw someone coming down the hall laughing loudly. I said to myself, "If that guy is a doctor, why is he clowning around like if he was Bozo the Clown in a circus? Is he on something?"
The next thing that happened still seems to be a surreal experience to me. The Anglo doctor with a smirk on his face yells out to me, "Que Pasa." I begin to explain to him when he bursts out laughing, turns his back to me and walks away!"
I decided, for other people's sake, to report the matter to the manager of the emergency floor, Mr. Thomas Hicks. He listened to my concerns about Bozo and about the slowness of patients in receiving medical care in their so called "emergency" wing. A couple of days later, a woman (whom I assume) is one of the higher ups called me and I told her the same things I told Mr. Hicks.
A week or two later, I got a bill for $50. That's right a $50 bill plus a lot more they received from the insurance company for pay for a doctor laughing at my face and turning his back on me! I didn't pay them because I hoped that they would see their errors and take corrective actions. Once again, I expected too much from them. A month later, I received a 2nd bill. I decided to call Mr. Hicks again. I was unable to reach him, but I did leave a message on his answering machine asking him to call me back. As you might expect by now, he never did return my call.
You now know what the problem is with that section of the hospital or the whole hospital from all I know. The responsibility lies (as it should) with the upper ranks of the administration of Del Sol who enable such nonsense to take place in the first place and continue.
So you people be sure not to go to the "emergency" room at Del Sol. Be careful out there when you go looking for a good doctor and hospital tor medical care. Always keep in mind, that medical mistakes and negligence are the third leading cause of death-after cardio, logical diseases- in the U. S., and this sad fact is not laughing matter.
