It is unfortunate that *** was unhappy with his experience at my studio I did work very hard to provide great service as I do with all clients He has misunderstood what I told him on the phone (I believe he assumed I work like other cat photographers he's had experience with)
I tell all my clients they will VIEW 5-images for my minute session and VIEW 20-images for minute sessions He assumed "viewing" meant giving photos, which was incorrect The simple misunderstanding could have been resolved when I immediately sent my standard confirmation email (after g\his sitting payment was received) See attached screen shotsAll clients are asked to read my Studio Policies and Procedures, which he acknowledged he did on my questionnaire The first item on that page document states I do include products with my sitting fees My website also clearly did not include products with sitting feeswhich *** said he read He sat in my studio during the Order Session admitting he did not read my policies and said he needed more time to get funds for buying digital files I made the exception to let him buy at a later date and only then did he express his anger at me and made the accusation that I lied to him Meanwhile his friend never completed my questionnaire as requested of all my clients and never acknowledged reading my policies, but I did her photos anyway, which I should not have done She came to per Order Session and was surprised to hear that she was expected to purchase the images she liked, but said she completely understood that I deserved to be paid for my hard work. After ***'s angry email, responded immediately as follows: ***,I am crushed by your emailIt is hurtful and threatening and I think it's way out of lineMy website clearly explains what my sessions cost, what they include and even depicts my starting product pricesI work with hundreds of clients and they fully understand that a studio "sitting fee" is for my time shooting and does not include prints or digitals My Studio Policies & Procedures states (first item) that products are not included in the sitting fee: http://www.delafoto.co/studio-policiesIf you had stated that you had a problem with those policies, I would have gladly refunded you your sitting fee at that timeInstead you indicated that you read and understood those terms on my questionnaire.I understand that cat show photographers may work differently and I was clear from the start that I am not like themI am very much like any other "pet" or studio photographerSince you have never worked with one before, I can see how you may have believed pricing should be different. I did not intentionally deceive you or *** or ***I had an hour long conversation with ***, prior to our photo session explaining In detail how I charge and how that would translate to your showI never said or indicated in any way that sittings include free prints or digital filesI never got to speak with ***. At the presentation you admitted that you didn't take time to read my info, and thereby misled yourselfI have put many hours into planning, prepping, shooting, editing and presenting these photosYou got your $worthTo try and threaten me to get a refund or free images is extortionI do not appreciate that.*** left my studio today expressing that the product cost was more than she expected, but she understood I need to get paid for my workI do this full time and have major expenses to coverThis is not a hobbyI provide a quality product for a reasonable cost, if that wasn't the case I wouldn't be in business. I've been flexible in how to accommodate you and ***'s financial and time concerns and was willing to bend my rules to accommodate you.I had a feeling your show would not be a good fit for my business model, yet I was willing to do it anyway to help you outI'm not at all disappointed that you've decided to cancel. If anyone has been dishonest it is youViewing the photos, you were happy with their variety and qualityYou stayed you needed time to make selections and to get the funds but as far as I knew we were okNow you just don't think you should have to pay for anythingIt's your choice, not to buy products, but the threats and insults are inappropriate and I believe unwarranted.You feel you've wasted your money, and I feel I've wasted a lot of timeWe both lost outBut again, I had only good intentions here, try and remember that. ***
