Delavan Auto Reviews (1)

Review: Purchased a 1997 Chrysler Concorde from Delavan Auto on 10/24/2013 which had be sold for 1,100 (1,600 original price) that declared on the buyer's guide that everything worked except the braking system (ABS and Handbreak). Upon leaving the lot, after the purchase, the windshield wipers failed to operate. Delavan Auto discussed that it was the switch. Delavan Auto, [redacted] the mechanic, stated that they will replace the switch. That same following night the car stalled and died. I was able to recover the car and continue to drive it. The next day 10/25/2013 the front left strut, "sheered," off as [redacted] described after taking it back to the Delavan Auto. The strut failed after my shift at work and I was on my way to drive home. [redacted] promised to fix the car strut. I notified Delavan Auto about the stall on 10/25/2013. The car was repaired on 10/27/2013. When I contacted them about the wiper switch on 10/27/2013 they informed me that they're awaiting for the part to come in. They had also briefly mentioned pulling the part off from another car and they would have the part by Monday or Tuesday (11/4-5/2013.) On 11/4/2013 I contacted them regarding the wiper switch and they still did not have it. I called again on 11/6/2013 about the switch and they said they would have it by Thursday (11/07/2013). When I got to Delavan Auto they were not able to perform the repair because they did not have the part ready. The next morning 11/8/2013 I dropped my car off as instructed by Delavan Auto so that they can put the new part in. I walked to work that morning. When I returned after my shift they told me the car was finished. Delavan Auto stated that the new switch did not work so they built a toggle switch for the wipers. Within 5 minutes of leaving the shop the car died. They sent [redacted] out to tow it back. The car was not able to recovered (IE I was not able to drive it due to mechanical failures). On 11/8/2013 I declared my unsatisfactory and got everything out of my car. 11/8/2013 I contacted Delavan Police Department after the man working at Delavan Auto stated that they didn't know where my keys were, and/or that they were with the mechanic, [redacted], and didn't want to call him back to give me my keys. After the call was made the keys were produced and I was able to get my items out of the car. On 11/ 9/ 2013 I informed them my refund. They refused to refund my money. I paid 1,100 for the car and taxes made the entire purchase up to 1,250. I told them that I would take 800 flat today. [redacted], who declared himself part owner said, "I can't do anything today I have to talk to Harold, he is my step dad and part owner. And I will call you back on Monday (11/11/2013)." They did not call.Desired Settlement: I told them 800 flat or all. It was their choice. Now I wish to get all my money back that doesn't include the taxes, so 1,100 dollars. Should I have to go to court to get my money I will sue for punitive damages. Also I am returning the car to them. I am not taking the car with me. It is presently stuck on their lot and I have no way of moving it yet. I am currently looking for ways to get it.
