Review: on 1/23/2014 at 6:15pm I noticed the ceiling in our back bedroom was leaking,so right away I called our roofer because we just had our a new roof installed 6/28/12,and I was getting no response.so I was feeling desperate because the roof was leaking alot so I went on the computer to find a roofer and it just asked me for my name,address,phone and a small description of the issue and within the hour I got a call from danny at home contractors.I advised him that our drain pipe was frozen and we had a bad leak in the ceiling.he told me it would cost 225.00 to remove the ice from the drain,so I had asked if I could pay half now and the balance on the 7th because I just pd a 100.00 vet bill and he said we normally don't do this but since you live down the street I can make an exception.when he came by he took the 125.00 and he told me he had to go get propane for the torch to melt the ice and I asked if I needed to be home because I had to go to the store before the snow and he said no so I had left,it was around 10:20 am.I returned home around noon.15 minutes later I opened the door and saw him going up the ladder with the torch,he wasn't up there no more than 15 minutes.awhile later he called and told me we had a golf ball size hole on the roof which was causing the leak and because I wasn't home at the time he decided to fix it and told me he would need 45.00 for the materials he had to purchase but not to say anything because he fixed it for us at no charge.he said our drain was cracked as well and that he repaired it.on thursday 1/30 the roofer came that did our roof originally finally called and said they were going to come out and fix it,so on sunday 2/2 we finally got our roof repaired,but before the roofer went up my husband asked if he can go up to see what the other roofer had done so basically all danny did was remove some ice around the drain and place a piece of felt on the roof,there wasn't even a hole,the ice cracked the seam of the roof which caused the water to get in the house,no repair what so ever was done.on the 2/7 danny from home contractors called wanting the balance we owed of 100.00,now mind you we have no receipts of the material purchased or a bill written out of what was paid and what was owed,even after the fact the roof was still leaking so I called and his father answered and he told me there was nothing they can do because the water had to go somewhere and that there was nothing more they can do for me.so the evening of 2/7 my husband called and spoke to danny and had asked him exactly what we paid 170.00 for and he told my husband for clearing away the ice, replacing a small part that goes on the drain and also for going up on the roof in bad weather.so my husband advised him that we need receipts of the materials purchased and the exact work that he did,so far nothing.he said to my husband your going to complain of a measley 170.00,hes so lucky I was not on that phone because I would have given him an ear full for that comment especially since he left a couple of messages wanting the measley 100.00 that he thinks is owed to him.I feel we were ripped off and that this needs to be reported since obviously he doesn't care about our concerns,oh and by the way he requested cash only and again we were not given any receipts.the roofer that repaired our roof even confirmed to us that nothing on the roof was replaced or looked new.I know better now and its a shame there are people out there like that just to make a buck.if possible I would like to get my money back because I feel nothing was done for the amount of money we gave him.Desired Settlement: I would like the 170.00 that was paid for no work done,but since he feels he should get something for climbing up the ladder in bad weather so be it but I feel I deserve the whole refund back.
