My name is [redacted] , owner of Delgadillo's Towin & Mobile & Auto RepairThis is my response to [redacted] complaint to the B BDuring the month of September 2013, [redacted] called I [redacted] to come check his Volkswagen Passat at his home I then towed it to my shop for diagnosis and repair, wh~re I received an initial payment of $to begin the extensive diagnosis and repair, pr9cess to get the vehicle to runMr [redacted] had told me it had died on the road somehow, bur that it had in no way overheatedI received the vehicle with the engine components p'rially torn down already, as the vehicle had been to another shop previouslyAfterevaluating the vehicle, I determined that it had in fact overheated, contrary to what I hadl been toldThe overheating was evidenced by rusted cylinder rings/head gasketsand cylinder walls; and, cracked PVC hoses, a cracked water reservoir, and the presence of water in the motor oil, and rust in the coolant water (leading to rusty cylinders)His codlant hoses were old, and his coolant reservoir had to be replacedThe engine was not fixable at this pointMr [redacted] was informed.I didn't give Mr [redacted] a time line as to when the vehicle would tie completeTearing down an engine takes much time, not to mention any parts that I right have to send over to a specialty shop for them to redo, any parts I might have to or~er, or parts I had to locate out of my cityI informed Mr [redacted] that in addition to the above problems, that the engine was severely rusted, and that the coolant reservoir and hoses needed to be replaced at minimumHe informed me that he did not want to in1Uf excessive repair costs, he just wanted to get the car up and running for the purpose of selling itHe was very flustered at my diagnosis and about how serious the state ?fpte vehicle was, but he paid me another $after two weeks to get the car runningI ~ormed him that the car would not run very well, or very long if he chose not to replace parts, redo the engine, and repair all areas that required attentionHe again told me he just ~anted to sell it.I had to send the cylinder head to the Aaron's Automotive machine shop, which took six weeks for them to doI got hurt at work in march 13, 2014, which set me back six weeks Mr [redacted] was informed of my injury and my situation, but he didn't careI have been attending physical therapy and doctor visits from December until March 2014.After he threatened me, I had to get a helper to assist me, as my shoulder was sprained and I still could not do the engine work aloneI have enclosed a labor estimate regarding the work that was to be completed and the cost of repairs, which Mr [redacted] signedI completed all of the work on the statement, plus put new spark plugs which I did not get paid forThough I completed my work, the issue of the water reservoir remained, and the work needed was never approved to make the car stable enough to run normallyWith regard to the water reservoir, Mr [redacted] did not want to replace itA reservoir is necessary to retain water and make pressure to circulate and cool the car so it will run, period!Vehicles overheat without a proper reservist, but Mr [redacted] still declined to buy a new oneI offered to seal the reservoir with marine epoxy (durable epoxy used to repair boats) as a temporary solution, and Mr [redacted] agreedOne day Mr [redacted] came back in a truck and told me to give him the car whether it was ready or notI told him it was not ready, and the reservoir was patched and he needed a new one asapIt was meant so that he could start the vehicle, put it on a trailer, and transport itThe patch was not meant to put the car on the road to drive normallyMr [redacted] paid me $when he picked up the vehicle, throwing the money at me on the ground.Later on that same day, Mr [redacted] phoned that his car got hot, as I had informed him it wouldHe wanted his money back, but he chose to pick it up b~ore the engine and work were completeThat was the end of our business togetherMrarcia was very disgruntled and difficult to deal with the entire processMany our encounters involved some form of intimidation and threatening on his partI did my best to remain calm and professional, and did not return such behaviors in kindIIf you have any questions feel free to contact me at ###-###-####Thank you for your time and consideration.Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below lupes statement is incorrect he was told that the car endeed overheated do to a faulty water pump in order to replace the water pump the timing belt had to be removed after I relaced the water pump I could not set the timing correctly thats when I called [redacted] for his assestance he came to my residence and was informed of th situation on the car after inspecting the car [redacted] assurd me it was something he was capable of repairing the car was never at another shop it was disassembeld at my house with the help of a freind and [redacted] was also told that the spark plugs were relaced do to moisture he satd that the head or heat gasket were bad thats why the car was taken to his house for repairs after it sat at his house without the engine cylinders being cleaned and water removed is what caused the engine to rust and there is nothing wrong with the water resivoir Regards, [redacted]
