Delia House Services Reviews (4)

The night before the painters were scheduled to come paint, I received a text cancelling the service, even though I'd already paid.On 18 Aug 2015, I purchased a Voucher from [redacted] for Interior Painting for Two Rooms by Delia's House Services (Voucher #[redacted]; Paid Value $149.00; Promotional Value $251.00). Prior to purchasing voucher, I read the fine print and ensured that all restrictions were met: a) I measured my rooms to ensure they did not exceed the room dimension restriction ("Room dimensions may not exceed 12' x 14' x 9'"); and b) that my location was within the 35-mile radius of zip code [redacted] ("Distance restrictions apply; service area includes a 35-mile radius of zip code [redacted]"). I did this by using the list of zip codes in the service area as well as using [redacted] maps to ensure my location was within 35 miles of [redacted].Per the instructions on the voucher, I called [redacted] on 18 Aug 2015 at 12:47, leaving a voice mail on answering machine, mentioning my deal and voucher code, again, per instructions on voucher. On 19 Aug 2015, at 8:58pm, Delia's House Services returned my call. We scheduled 09 September 2015 for them to come paint the two rooms, to redeem my [redacted] Voucher. Delia's House Services requested I move all room contents to the center of the room to allow them access to the walls. Delia's House services also requested I text them my address, which I did at 9:05pm, shortly after our phone discussion. On 07 September 2015, I spend hours removing all objects from the walls of the two rooms and move remaining room contents to the center of the rooms as requested in the 19 Aug 2015 phone call.On 08 September 2015 at 8:46pm, the night before the painters were scheduled to come paint, I received a text stating, "Good night It's too far awayWe don't drive over 35 miles from DurhamSorry"I replied to the text:"That's not what your website said. It has a service territory checker and my zip code is in it, that's why I bought the voucher. I checked the distance multiple times, multiple ways, and I'm not 35 miles from Durham. I've already moved all the stuff out of or to the center of both rooms to be painted, as instructed over the phone."Here was the response:"It is far. Please call [redacted] for refund. Sorry"So, I've spent money on a service, for which I fully vetted the fine print to ensure I was within each and every restriction, and the night before the scheduled delivery of said service, the merchant texts me and cancels. Now, I cannot receive a refund for the voucher I purchased through [redacted] due to this cancellation not occurring within the 7-day refund window.Desired SettlementI am seeking refund for the $149 I spent on a voucher for Painting for Two Rooms from Delia's House Services.Business Response hello there you will get your refund just call to [redacted] Consumer Response I did contact [redacted], and I will NOT get a refund from them, since the date of service (or lack thereof) exceeded the 7-day refund policy. [redacted] refund policy states, "You can get a full refund on any unredeemed, unscheduled Voucher within the first seven days of purchase. No questions asked." However, since I bought the voucher on 18 Aug 2015, scheduled the service for and Delia House service to come on 09 September 2015, by the time I got the "we're not coming tomorrow" text at 2100 the night before (on 08 September 2015), the 7-day refund window had passed. I am still out the $149 I spent on service that never occurred. This is NOT an acceptable resolution to my complaint.Final Business Response [redacted] already refunded your money on september 10have a nice day

I hired Delia House Services to paint a very small and simple room on January 9th, 2014. I spoke with business manager, [redacted], who was very helpful at setting this up and confirmed with me that they use 2 coats of paint on each wall. [redacted] (sp?) and [redacted] painted the room and when I went upstairs I initially noticed some spots which were lighter that I pointed out. They reassured me that it would dry and be fine. I paid them $100 via check to Delia House Services. That evening both my husband and I noticed that they had rolled 2 coats in certain areas and in others just one (around door and window frames, corners, baseboards and ceilings). It was very noticeable. I called back that very night and spoke to [redacted]. The next morning it was confirmed that the two men would come back that afternoon to fix the issue, which should take 20 minutes. The men arrived and refused to do any work unless I paid them because their supervisor would not pay them for this. They proceeded to tell me that they were the ones who made the mistake, but still wanted money from me. The younger man was on the phone speaking Spanish and told me that his supervisor was coming over. I said we would wait and they left and on their way out threw an empty can of paint onto my front lawn. I was appalled as I had never been treated this way before. I called [redacted] immediately and she said they were not supposed to leave and the supervisor was not reachable, therefore they totally lied.I am shocked by the lack of professionalism, the awful service provided and the blatant littering on my property. It is very clear that these people did not stand by their work!Desired SettlementI would like a refund for the money provided as the service was not completed fully. Business Response Contact Name and Title: Delia response Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted].comHello [redacted] well first of all I am very sorry for what happen. but from our understanding the painters [redacted] and [redacted]) did 2 coats of paint but the paint you provided (witch was 2 gallons of paints), one of them was an old gallon and the other was new. after that you told the painters to use the old one first then to use the new one. so that's what they did. Then u called and said they didn't do the second coat, but the painters reassured us they did it. so we ask them to go back and see what the problem was about. when they went they said you wanted them to do a 3rd coat and for that you have to pay extra and you didn't want to pay. After that [redacted] called [redacted] and told her what was going on so she told him, that she was going to see if she could get the supervisor to go over there. [redacted] then told you that they were going to wait outside for the supervisor and you went and slam the door behind them so they left because they had a job to go to. After that you called [redacted] and told her your side and she told you that the supervisor had just left town for a family meeting and she was going to see what she could for you... Now I just want to tell you I am the supervisor and that we can do you a refund of 70$ witch was what you paid originally for the room but with the condition you remove the comment. please for more information just call us at XXX XXXXXXX thank you.

They put an ad on [redacted] for the painting of a room and didn't specify room size. When they showed up they charged me $40 (double) to paint. This company advertised on [redacted] that they would paint 1 room for $79. They didn't include a room size in the fine print. When they showed up to paint, they said the room was too big and it would be $50 more. They agreed to take $40 cash (almost a 50% increase). I couldn't get my computer to boot up to check the voucher to make sure the mistake wasn't on my end, the dog was scheduled to go to the groomer, and the babysitter was taking the kids. I was not in a position to say no at this point. In addition, when I called and booked the job I told them the size b/c I needed to know how much paint to get and they didn't mention an issue. They intentionally waited until they showed up and I had no choice. I called later, when I realized that the deal did NOT have a room size restriction and they tried to blame [redacted]. I have since spoken to [redacted] who confirms that they did not make a mistake. This company was simply out to gouge people with a surcharge and took no responsibility. I even offered to split the difference and they simply refused. They quickly went in to mark the voucher as used so I couldn't get a refund. Everything they did from start to finish was sneaky and underhanded, but even worse was that it was intentional and they did it knowingly.Desired SettlementI simply want the $40 back I gave them at the time. Furthermore, they even left their ladder at our house that I could have kept, but I did the right thing and left it for them to pick up.Business Response Okk we will give u a refund of 40$ if you take your comment on [redacted], and [redacted] off. Please call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX to discuse further.Consumer Response My husband will call you. $20 would be fair b/c I would have tipped the painters $20. They did do a fantastic job and had this not have taken place I would have given a rave review. I took down the [redacted] message and I think you mean [redacted] comments (not [redacted], b/c I don't know what [redacted] is). Once the $20 is mailed to us, we will remove that as well. None of this had to take place if someone had simply returned my messages as promised.Final Consumer Response The company did the right thing and refunded us our money. I would like to remove the complaint from the Revdex.com.

I purchased a home power washing deal from [redacted] for Delia. Nobody answers the phone or emails me back when I try to schedule an appointment.I purchased the [redacted] deal in February and have been attempting to contact Delia Home Services in order to schedule my power washing for the last 2 weeks. I have left multiple messages and have also emailed with no response. Desired SettlementI would like them to contact me as soon as possible.Business Response in the future please send a text to respond quick at [redacted]thank youConsumer Response I was contacted promptly by the owner of the company. They came to my house a couple of days later and completed the power washing as requested. They did a great job! Final Consumer Response
