I hired *** April 6th, 2020, Under the company name ***/Delightful construction LLC/ owner of the company his wife. I found out too late unfortunately he was working before for the company ***, again not under his name but different owner, not so sure but I googled him and it popped out he was working for the company ***. When I hired him He started to work good. He did the demo of the house in one day and he got paid total $3,000.00 the same day, in the next two days he said he is done with electrical and plumbing (not properly done but he took advantage of my not knowledge about it and I wasn’t aware about that until the end of June when I took there licensed electrician) ,but I paid him the full price of $3,500.00. At the same time I paid him $5,500.00 for replacing the windows in the whole house, he showed me proof that he ordered the windows and I started trusting him. Then he said while he is waiting for the windows he wants to start doing inside work at the house like drywall painting and building one bedroom which was part of what I wanted to be done. I agreed and gave him down payment $4,500.00. At that time I had another two houses for remodeling, at one of them (That was side by side duplex) I had other people working, doing great job but so slow because they didn’t have enough workers. So I took *** at that property April 13th to take a look give me price and deadline. He gave me price for one side of the house just just the inside work and I paid him $3,000.00 down payment.in the meantime while he was working at the second property he told me that outside electrical has to be fixed at the first property I’ve hired him and gave me price 4,000.00 but I said maybe later he lowered the price on 3,000.00 and I said ok I paid him in full but he didn’t do the job properly the wires are not connected with inside of the house he just sent me pic and asked for money. Everything was happening so fast next day April 14th he started immediately with work at the second property, patching sending me pictures of what they’re doing and how fast everything is going, in that way he built more trust in me. April 15th I went there and we went through both sides of the house including two basements, two kitchens, outside repair and touch ups on the house repairing the garage and install laminate floor through all three floors on the side where I had workers (because they were hired only for painting on that side), and of course the most important was if I hire him for all of that job when he will be done with everything? That was our first verbal deadline: he said by the end of the first week of May. Honestly I trusted him but unfortunately that was just the way to trick me. From the next day I started receiving text messages, of course in order all of that job to be done by the end of the first week of May he started sending invoices and giving me false claims that he is buying materials to be prepared with everything. So till the end of April I paid him $1,100.00 (no proof that he paid carpenter even though I asked him) for carpets in both basements to schedule with carpenter and to be on time, $2,000.00 down payment for one basement then 1,770.00 down payment for the other basement including replacing the windows(never happened) , 1,258.00 for one kitchen + 1,320.84 for the other kitchen replacing some cabinets new sink and countertop remove install new ones (never happened). $615.00 for replacing two double windows (no windows ever seen). $500.00 for touch up outside paint of the house ( also, never happened) . 4,150.00 (paid in full claiming he will finish the rest in the same day when I paid him) outside repair and garage repair, painting trim porch etc.( that is what he was working on, while he was getting the other money from me). After all of this payments I asked him is he going to finish in one week because it was end of April. He said not by the end but by the middle of the next week if can give me $1,000.00 from remaining balance for one of the houses so he can hire extra guys. I transferred money immediately, but he hurt his knee ( first week of May) while he was working on the other job sides, claiming he needs that week and from Monday (second week of May) he will start with extra guys. Then exactly May 11th he asked again from the remaining balance of the first house he started so this time he will have extra guys to finish this fast, again I transferred him $3,650.00 for extra guys. No extra guys no job done, he was sending like one guy per week to do something small and by the end of June he did just painting floor on one side but just first and third floor for what he texted me from the store that he found better floor for both sides but I have to send him $440.00 additional cost, and I did. Also, somewhere in May he texted me from the store again with pictures from faucet and shower for the bathtub and ask me $240 to get them, I transferred money but I’ve never seen them in the house on what he said that the other workers steal them. Another thing he asked additional money $1,200.00 for the left side of the basement to make all walls smooth with concrete which wasn’t included in original invoice, I refused but he continued convincing me even though he lowered the price on 950.00 I didn’t want again and he didn’t give up he lowered the price on $650.00 and I accepted and paid him. He asked me for additional money too for sticky tiles for both sides from the basement to the attic with endings $236.00 + $160.00 for base moulding, and I sent to him. He tried to get money for my 3rd property claiming he is thinking ahead to order the windows (I didn’t agree on that). He was so far from finishing the job but he said he’s looking for good deals for the fixture in the basement and ask again to send him money, but I didn’t. I paid him for everything in April and especially about the materials for the basements kitchens windows I was asking

The consumer and the contractor agreed to use epoxy material in the basement room and on the kitchen counter tops for a total amount of $1500 /-. The contractor was initially paid $1160/- ($750 was paid via credit card and $370 was paid in cash) even before the work started. It was agreed to pay rest of the balance upon completion of the work. After working for a few hours the contractor said he was completely done and demanded rest of the amount. We noticed that the work was not completed and requested our neighbor to get another opinion with regards to completion of work. Upon questioning from our neighbor too, who also agreed with us that the work was incomplete, asked the contractor to complete it. The contractor said he would be back on Saturday(6/27/2020) morning to redo and complete the work. The contractor also demanded part of the remaining balance to be paid. The consumer asked the contractor to come and finish all the work and get the complete balance amount. The contractor never showed up to finish the work. No communication has happened after that day. The work was not completed, everything was left in a mess. The consumer took pictures for reference for all the unfinished work. We felt we have been deceived and ripped off.
