Mr [redacted] Dear [redacted] Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding your mother’s service Clearly this situation has been upsetting for you I can understand why you have not taken any of my calls or wanted to talk to us about the events of that dayAt Evergreen we always endeavor to exceed the expectations that families place on us In this case we have clearly not met your expectationsAfter speaking with the funeral directors that cared for your family on the day of the arrangement and during the service, there are a few things I wanted to make you aware of I am assuming that when you use the word “Garbage” you are referring to the casket spray that was designed by “ [redacted] ***” If there was something else you meant by garbage than I am unaware of what you mean and I would ask you to please clarifyDuring the initial arrangement you had expressed your desire for the rose casket spray to be placed inside the vault and on top of the casket At the time, it was explained to you that there may not be room in the vault for the casket spray However, we were trying to help and it was agreed that we would try to make sure the flowers fit into the vault At the graveside service the funeral director spoke with the vault company representative, who said that if we left the flowers on top of the casket it would affect the integrity of the seal, which is an important part of a [redacted] vaultThe funeral director came to you and explained that we would be able to take some roses out of the casket spray so the flowers would fit between the top of the casket and the vault lid With your verbal permission we then disassembled some of the casket spray and placed all parts of the spray into the vault The vault then was sealed and lowered into the groundWe understand that we cannot go back and redo your mother’s serviceTherefore what I propose is this At the time of your choosing we will again gather at the graveside, we will have another beautiful casket spray identical to the one that you had [redacted] there to adorn the graveside The poem that you requested “Don’t cry for me” will be read and we can recommit her body to its resting place Following that we will have you and whoever attends the graveside back to our funeral home for a light reception and time of fellowship
