We originally contacted Delmar to take care of a bee issue. At that time we signed with a maintenance contract for a year and I mentioned that there might be bats in a certain spot up towards our roof. 9 months into the contract I insisted they get on a ladder to check the spot as I had mentioned the spot before but they had still not checked it. As it turns out we had bats the whole time in our attic and the debris from the bats was enormous. Delmar admitted that they missed it but gave no discount on the removal of the bats or the clean up to take in to account the extra damage that occurred during the contract year.

Review: I signed a contract for quarterly service which included interior and exterior. Over the years the company would call and leave a message on my answering machine to state that a service person would be out to provide treatments on a company determined day. I work varied 12 hour shift days therefore I was often not home on the days THEY planned to come. I called their office frequently to tell them that the day they picked would not work for me. Their procedure very frequently resulted in repeated exterior service and no interior. I cannot remember the last time they were in my home. When the same phone messaging from Delmar occurred at the end of May 2014, I again called the office to tell them not to come on the day they planned. Further I told [redacted] in the office that I did not want any technician to come to my home until further notice. [redacted] told me she would tell them. The service technician came anyway on June 1st and AGAIN did the exterior. I was billed. I called the office on June 18, 2014 to complain about this and spoke to [redacted] again and complained about them coming. Her response was something like "Oh, I guess they didn't get the message". I then told '[redacted]' that I wanted to cancel my services from Delmar Termite and Pest. I made it VERY clear that I no longer wanted to continue service with this company. I received verbal confirmation of understanding of this from '[redacted]' . I thought that I was done with the company but when I returned home from work on September 26, 2014 I was surprised to find a notice of exterior treatment from Delmar! They did not call prior this time. If they had I could have reminded them that I had cancelled contract service with them. On October 6, 2014 I sent a letter of complaint to the PO box relating all of the above. I also stated that I feel not only should they have not come to my home when I specifically asked them not to and therefore I should not be responsible to pay for service I refused. In the letter I told them not to come to my home again. The only response I received was another bill today. Due to their past behavior I am concerned that they will again ignore my requests and cancellation and continue to bill me. I did not sign a lifetime contract back on May 17, 2011. What if I move? Do they continue to come here and bill me? I have NEVER had a problem ending a service with any other company.Desired Settlement: I want to be released from the charges of June 1 and September 26, 2014 and that this company never come to my home again

Review: In January 2015 , my Mother paid Delmar $299 for a years advanced service. She past away in March 2015. I called & cancelled her pesticide service. $299 is basically $25 per month. We received a refund check for $149. Delmar still owes us $100. I've made multiple phone calls and got no where. I'm always told, "the owner will call".Desired Settlement: Delmar needs to refund my mother $100.

OUR RENEWAL IS HEAVILY DISCOUNTED FOR OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS TO GIVE THEM PEST CONTROL AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE. THE SON OF OUR CUSTOMER CALLED OUR OFFICE MORE THAN 6 TIMES STATING HIS MOTHER DIED & WE SHOULD SEND A REFUND CHECK TO HIM. AFTER MULTIPLE TIMES I DECIDED TO PRORATE A REFUND AND SENT A CHECK FOR $149.00. SO YOU UNDERSTAND A YEARLY CONTRACT IS $449.00 WE GIVE OUR CUSTOMERS A DISCOUNT OF $150.00 OFF THERE RENEWAL FOR STAYING WITH US. WE CHARGE $199.00 PER SERVICE IF YOU DO ON A CALL IN BASIS. THEY USED 1 SERVICE ON THE NEW CONTRACT. TECHNICALLY WE DIDN'T HAVE TO SEND HIM ANYTHING, BUT I TRIED TO NICE AND PRORATE THE SERVICE. I WOULD ASK THAT HE REPAY WHAT THE $149.00 THAT WAS SENT TO THE SON BECAUSE LEGALLY IT SHOULD GO TO THE ESTATE. PLEASE RESPOND. THANK, YOU [redacted]

Review: On 6/4/2014 they came to my home to see if we had bed bugs. It was determined we did and the service guy gave me a contract. On the 6th of june one guy came out to exterminate. we had to have everything out of the home . he told us to be gone for four hours and not to worry everything will be dead when we came back. We came home after work at 6pm only to find residual foggers that does not list bed bugs as what it kills it was for roaches spiders ect. I called repeatedly as my phone records will show with no call back. we have 5 people who live in this home with one pet. unable to stay in the home because it was improperly treated we had to get two hotel rooms. the following day I called again with no call back for four hours after the first call that morning. I asked to speak to the owner and [redacted] who stated he was the owner was very rude saying I didnt know what I was talking abou that they dont use foggers for bed bug treatment, untill I told him I was holding two cans of the fogger he changed his attitude and sent someone back over to do the treatment , again I had to be displaced from my home with five of us and a cat. upon thinking of all this I asked [redacted] (the owner because of what his person did I believe he should do the second treatment for free I paid 250 for the hotel rooms. he said he wasnt giving me anything for free and that I was really making him angry. after I insisted his man did a fraudulent service the first time possibly moving the insects further into the wall to hide the treatments needed to be aggressive. he agreed to do the service (second treatment for free) to offset the cost of my hotel room. The guy shows up unprepared to do the service saying he was just told he was supposed to do this bed bug job so I told him to come back the next day with the right stuff to do the job on the 18th. This is a nightmare I got bit again and called them to come out on 7/6 he came out and said the office was going to call and make an appointment to come out to spray again here it is the 17th and I called them they had an attitude Im letting them spray again tomorrow if they even show up. Im desperate not to have bugs feed off me and my family I have no money to pay for another company to come out I have no trust in this company and have saved the fogger they used the first day they tried to commit fraud on me. If you need to see it.Desired Settlement: 649.00 399.00 for the service and 250 for the hotel room I have receipts for both

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Misrepresentation by senior field supervisor **. He spoke about the heat treatment when he came to my apartment. When the exterminator arrived he was told to do a chemical treatment. The exterminator called ** and he stated he did not sell me on a heat treatment. I spoke to ** about our conversation, he was rude, yelling about his over 25 years experience. I hung up the phone on him. After speaking with the exterminator that was at my home I decided to go ahead with the chemical treatment. The exterminator went to his car and brought up his equipment. ** called and order him not to do the treatment and to leave. My credit card was charged anyway. I called the office the next day after noticing the charge and management was gone for the day. I was told he would call me tomorrow . As a supervisor Al needs to conduct himself in a professional manner. He is representing a company. I would not recommend anyone to deal with **. I felt he used the bait and switch routine, and began yelling when I confronted him.
