05/06/2014We are writing this letter in response to the complaint that was filed against our business and delivered to the Revdex.com on midnight of the April 9th, 2014.We are a small family business made up of very honest hard-working people and we treat our customers with the utmost respect, may times short-changing ourselves in order to please our customersA majority of transactions involve use 'rounding' down in order to simplify or expedite a sale and keep business moving smoothly.According to the customer's complaint, she is one of hundreds of customers being 'ripped off' of her hard-earned moneyAlthough she has absolutely no proof of this offensive accusation, she has plenty of misguided anger to write an unjustified statement about our indecent business practice. What's most confusing is the fact that the Date of Purchase, 04/0B/and the date that the Problem Occurred, 03/01/are over year apart from each otherTo the best of our employees' memory, however, the offense most likely occurred during a busy period in which she was overwhelmed with many responsibilitiesSince the complainant was 'regular' customer, the employee quickly sold him a pack of cigarettes without ringing the sale on the cash registerWith the cost of cigarettes fluctuating on a weekly basis, a simple error was made in the rounding of the total priceOur policy always was and will be to do our best to please our customers and make sure they are in and out of our store quickly so they do not waste their times waiting in lineBut sometimes mistakes do happenIn this case, we apologize for her/his inconvenience and we would be more than happy to refund the disputed amount to the customer. We are a small hard-working family that has run this business since 2002, In all that time this is the first complaint that we have ever receivedWe appreciate the customer bringing this problem to our attentionIn the future we wi!l do our best to ensure that we scan every sale so we can avoid any more confusion and errors in a transaction. Please contact me with any other questions in regards to this dispute.Sincerely

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
To Whom This
Concerns:
I’m writing in response to the response from DEL’s Kegs & Kases at
[redacted] PA  [redacted],
Reference ID# [redacted] in response to my complaint dated April 9th,
2014.  They may be a small family
business but HONEST, THEY ARE NOT!  Their
statement that “a majority of transactions involve use “rounding down” in order
to simplify or expedite a sale and keep the business moving smoothly is so far
from the truth.  THEY DON’T ROUND DOWN,
THEY DO ROUND UP, ALWAYS when purchasing cigarettes in order to benefit them,
NEVER HAVE THEY ROUNDED DOWN.
Their statement that “although she has absolutely no proof of this
offensive accusation, she has plenty of misguided anger to write an unjustified
statement about our indecent business practice” well proof I do have.  I have every receipt because when I realized
they just blatantly overcharged for cigarettes, I decided to keep a paper trail
so I could file a complaint.  The receipts
have the total charged for my cigarettes which do not specify cigarettes, it
simply has the business information at the top of the receipt, the date, time
and the amount of my transaction because, again, THEY DO NOT SCAN THEIR
CIGARETTES SO THEY CAN OVERCHARGE CUSTOMERS.
I will make copies of my receipts and forward to the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS) if this way of doing business DOES NOT STOP IMMEDIATELY.  They would be happy to find out that [redacted] cigarettes
for example are currently: $6.09/pk plus 6% sales tax = $6.46 and this establishment
tells customers they owe $6.50.  Let’s
break that down $6.50-$6.46=.4 cents difference.  .4 cents x 100 people a day = $40.00 a day x
7 days=$280.00/week of stolen pennies x 52 weeks in a year = $14,560 of
tax-free unreported money to the IRS.  For
some honest working people, $14,560 is their yearly income and this company is
stealing this amount from their customers. Keep in mind, 100 people is probably
on the low end of reporting the number of customers they rip off in a day.  I’M SURE THE IRS WOULD BE HAPPY TO HEAR FROM
ME.   Again, most people do not pay
attention to the fact that they are being overcharged and if they think I’m
angry, yes, I am because of business practices such as theirs that steal from
their customers.  So my complaint is
justified.  Not to mention in their own
statement, they describe their practice as “indecent business practice” (3rd
paragraph, last sentence).
And, let me clear up the confusion about the dates for them, the RevDex.com’s form requested the following: Purchase date: I entered April
8th it then asked First Date Problem Occurred: I entered March 1,
2013.  So in case they are still
confused, I have been documenting these incidents for over a 12 month period,
again, plenty of proof. Like any other “HONEST BUSINESS” line or not, you take
care of your customers on a first come first served basis and not rush them to
make sure they are in and out before they realize they have been ripped
off.
With every breath in my body, I will send this information to the local
newspapers, the IRS and whoever else to expose this business’s disrespect of its
customers, as hard as times is for us honest hard-working citizens in today’s
society to be totally disrespected.
 Regards,
[redacted]

Review: This establishment overcharges their customer on products such as cigarettes. They DO NOT and WILL NOT scan their cigarettes. They post signs saying the cigarettes are one price but charge you something different adding 5 to 15 cents profit over what they should actually be charging you. Example: [redacted] cigarettes are posted at 6.09/pk. There is currently a promotion of 50 cents off per pack so the breakdown should be as follows for a two pack purchase that was made. $6.09-.50=$5.59 $5.59 x 2=$11.18 plus 6% sales tax =$11.85 and my husband was charged $12.00 This $12.00 was charged only after arguing with the lady that he was entitled to the .50 cents off per pack as opposed to being charged $12.96 that they usually tell you is your total when it should really be $12.91. Most people do not take the time to realize they are being overcharged but I know my math and it's very obvious since cigarettes is the one item them simply refuse to scan thru the register. People like myself work to hard earning my few pennies for businesses such as this to blatantly steal from me and hundreds of other customers. I'm just not sure who customers such as myself should turn to to report businesses such as this. Because at the end of the day if they over charge 100 cigarette customer just 5cents each, that's an additional $50 per day, $350 per week and $18,200 per year of tax free money for this business because I'm will bet my life on it that they do not report this stolen income to the IRS. THIS HAS TO STOP. PLEASE HELP.Desired Settlement: I would like for this business to be notified that customers are complaining of being ripped off and I would also like to know who customers such as myself turn to in order to file a complaint and put a stop to this IMMEDIATELY. There is also another business approximately 200 feet from this establishment that does the exact same thing but I don't remember their name off the top of my head.
