Review: In April 2012, Delta Response Team provided transport service for my mother (who had suffered brain aneurysm ruptures) from [redacted]) to [redacted]). She has [redacted] and [redacted] insurance. She assumed insurance had been billed and that there was no co-pay as SHE NEVER RECEIVED A BILL. August 2013, she received a bill from a collection agency in ** for $864.70. She called the collection agency who said the bill was from Delta Response Team. She called Delta Response Team to inquire about the billing and [redacted] and was told they could not help her, the [redacted] care site was down in [redacted]. She then called [redacted] who told her THEY HAD NEVER RECEIVED A BILL FOR THE TRANSPORT SERVICE. AND that the [redacted] site was working just fine in [redacted]. BECAUSE THE BILL was never sent to [redacted] and because it was way past the 1 year since the date of service, [redacted] was unable to pick up any of the fee. She paid the bill as she did not want to have her credit affected. Since her brain aneurysm rupture, Mom has diminished ability to problem solve at her previous level. I just became aware of this today, Oct 21, 2013. I have contacted the Delta Response Team and until a [redacted] form signed by my mom is faxed in, they cannot share information. HOWEVER, their web page does not give access to the form and they have not responded to my request to receive a form for completion. The website states they are available 24/7 so I do not understand why they did not reply to my email or telephone me.Desired Settlement: My parents are 76 and 94. They do not have much of an income at all and to have to charge $864.70 to a credit card is inexcusable when insurance WOULD HAVE PAID the fee had they been billed. I want Delta Response Team to own up to their mistake, send a written letter of apology and reimburse my my mom for the full amount that would have been covered by [redacted] and [redacted] (which will be 100%). I am livid that an agency would take advantage of the elderly in this manner. I hope you can help.

Spoke with [redacted] over the phone. She states that the old billing company they used had problems with correctly billing insurance companies. The billing company has been changed and once this mistake was discovered and the proper paperwork was filled out the customer had a check put in the mail. That check was for a refund for the price they were charged, since it would have been covered by the insurance company.
