On 07/29/2019 I hired Deluxe Painting Plus to prep and paint my house, we discussed the prep work being very important because my house has Aluminum siding on it. I told the Contractor several times the aluminum would need to be treated with Tri Sodium Phospahate to remove the residue for proper painting. He agreed as said he felt prep work was very important for a good finished project. The contractor wrote up a quote indicating the cleaning process would be done. There were several issues about his work that I questioned him on, having house completely primed on the first day he was there, bubbles in the paint, holes not patched, windows not cover when he "repainted", painting over my outside lights, all in white, not taped off, I paid him $1,700.00 down payment on this job and questioned several times about these issues. The Contractor stated several times all of these issues would be taken care of, as the job progressed there were more issues. The contractor contacted me at work saying there was "Good News" and "Bad News" good news was house and garage were all done, bad news was house keeps peeling and bubbling. When I got home I looked it over told him, I talked to him in person about the issues, my daughter and son in law came looked, agreed and told him the job was poorly done. he said he would fix it. Job was completed 08/09/2019 he texted me to come home and pay him. I did, paid him another $1,700.00, the next day I went out to clean the over sprayed windows he left uncovered when repainting. The entire house was completely bubbling everywhere, I was very up set, called him yelled at him about how many times I told him to prep. Told him not to come back until I had someone else check what happened, I had two Contractors look at it and they both said the prep work was not done right, still mold on my house from before he power washed it. I tried several times to work this out each time he said he would fix it and he not followed through with any of his promises or contractual agreement

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like my money back for the painting of my house, he has lost my trust in him that he will take care of the issues that I have continued to repeat to him, he continues to tell me that the reason the house is peeling is because of the paint that was on the house to being with,I agree because there is still mold on the house that should have been gone if he had prepped the house properly.He tells me he will get ahold of me when he is ready. What about my house,it is worse than it before.

I believe this matter is better discussed and resolved between me "the contractor" and the "customer", but I suppose I will tell me side of the story on here and hopefully clear up any confusions, yes I was hired for a painting job by ***, it was to paint garage and home, stain deck and also paint shutters. Yes there was issues and we did meet up to try and resolve them but I felt like the whole time I was being attacked and not allowed to explain and provide a fix. Also no the house was not all primed same day, I have text proofs of what was done on which day, I will provide my proof if need be. I did all my usual prep that I do when painting the exterior of an aluminum siding house, I pressure washed with a solution I have always used and always had great results, I prepped home and applied primer and paint that I have always used and had great results, I approached this project just like any other one I have in the past, but this house was different, there is always that one house which has it's difficulties. The garage turned out great as did the deck and shutters, she had no complaints, just on the house. Yes it kept bubbling, I scraped and sanded all areas that was bubbling and peeling and then I primed and all was good, after I painted 2 coats more areas bubbled, I scraped, sanded and primed and painted again then other areas bubbles again and again. I don't claim to know it all and I have asked other professionals on their opinion and they all told me it must have been the paint used on the house before, most likely wasn't primed before which caused old paint to peel after applying a primer and paint. Now I hope *** can reach out to me so we can come to a solution

I do not accept the contractors response. There is mold on the house that was there when he started the job, he did not do a complete stripping, and prepping of the house. I have had two other contractors out to look at it they said the same thing. Not prepped properly. They say most contractors won't use the TSP (which should have been used) because it is difficult to work with, I was told he would use it. He changed what tells me he would do several times and I have talked to the contractor several times ( with my daughter & her husband present) trying to get this fixed, he continues to blame my house. I believe it is his lack of knowledge on aluminum house painting, and cutting corners on the project. (not Using TSP, not covering windows, and ground from paint, not filling holes in siding, I have lost my trust in his word, and his wanting to fix the issue. I will probably go to *** and small claims if this is not resolved. I have lost time, money, value and trust with this Contractor. I was to believe the costumer gets what they are told they will get.

it seems like both sides, mine and on her end we are just repeating ourselves a lot and not getting anywhere. From the beginning when the issue was reported I have tried to provide a resolution, and yes it seems like I have failed to do so because we are still here. In my opinion I think it would be best for us the "customer and contractor" to sit in front of a mediator so we can come to a civil resolution that both parties are happy with. The customer has my number so she may call me anytime to let me know when a meeting can be held. I understand with the coronavirus now it may be a couple weeks before we can meet up with a mediator but like I said, customer has my name and number I am right here wanting to solve this issue. thanks

I just want you to know that Deluxe Painting Plus and I have resolved our issue. It took a bit of back and forth but Mr. G worked hard and refunded me part of the monies for the poor work issues. He just finished paying me the refund on Sunday 8/02/2020.
