I'm complaining about 2 Fraudulent Companies. That are working together to scam people out of their money. Demand and Escow &Empire City Brokerage
I was contacted by someone who said they work for Empire Brokerage in New York. He inquired about my VIP membership I own with Breathless resorts in Cancun Mexico. This was about mid February. He said that his company was hired by a client who wanted to purchase 165 units at Breathless Resort. So his client wanted to negotiate and buy out memberships so the Resort would have the 165 Jr. Suites available for his clients purchase. They were starting with lower membership which we have the second lowest called White Pearl with Unlimited Vacations Am Resorts. So they asked what I would sell my membership for and they would negotiate it with their client I said I wanted *** They then called with the good news the client offer was *** to buy us out. So they started what looked like totally legit contracts to sign. Extra... Then we got to the part where they sent us the bank statement from a bank in Mexico where the buyer opened an account in our names. With the total. Except the only way to get it wired to us from Mexico was to get a Tax ID number so we weren't taxed twice. By Mexico then the US where we reside. They offered 3 ways to do this. Go to Mexico which we can't. International flights are grounded. Get a lawyer to obtain the number for us or let their partners Demand & Escrow get the number on our behalf by wiring a fee of *** to the lawyer over seeing the bank account. Once they received it that they would release the Buyer's money which included reimbursement of the tax fee. By no later than June 12th. Well I researched both companies thoroughly. Got all parties licensing numbers off a government listing they provided the link. But wiring that much money still didn't sit well with me. Since over the course of 3 Months Everytime either company called my cell it came up as a Scam Likely. I also saw other red flags. That these two companies are in a big money making Scam together. Saying they have a client buying units at the resort in the Riviera Maya/ Cancun resort we purchased our membership from. This was proven Fraudulent when the money the buyers so called paid us was never transferred into our Account. I found out others have been Scammed by these Same two companies for time shares or resort membership at other Mexican Resorts or Properties!!!

This complaint is in conjunction with the complaint that I filed against Empire City Brokerage in New York, NY- both companies worked closely together in the scam/fraud that I was a victim of. I was contacted by Empire City Brokerage (contact persons: ***, ***, ***- ***) on
11/26/2019 regarding the sale of my timeshare/vacation membership in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Over the course of 3 months, I kept getting promises that
I would be funded for the sale of my timeshare, but the date kept getting delayed and I kept having to pay fees that kept adding up (capital gains, taxes,
transfer to non-family member, and so on) (via wires to Mexico) that were supposedly reimbursable (to be added to the sale price for the timeshare). The
total amount that I have paid is approx $*** (the supplemental attached document will show this listed as "reimbursement for...". I finally realized
everything was a scam and fraud when they asked for an additional $*** for an insurance bond requested by the bank in Mexico since the large
amounts of monies sent were supposedly looking suspicious/linked to money laundering. I looked up Empire City Brokerage and they are on a timeshare
scam database (***), along with Demand and Escrow, the company that they worked with during
this entire transaction/nightmare/scam, for "wire fraud to Mexico for sales fees and taxes". I asked for a refund but they are saying I could go to court if I
don't complete the sale. They tried showing they are licensed on the ca.gov website, but the address does not match. I filed a report with the San Jose Police
Department, filed an online report with the Federal Trade Commission, and an online report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). I contacted the
Time Share Scam Hotline. I contacted my credit union but they said once the money is gone, it is gone. I hope that is not the case. I am desperate- please help me.
